2026 Track Results

The Womens Finals is gonna be incredible too. Not too far away as it's right after the mens.
In the 2026 Commonwealth Games Womens 100 Meters Semi Finals we had 3 our our ladies advance.

Audrey Leduc 11.01
Amy Hunt 11.02
Zoe Hobbs 11.04

With 3 of the 8 sprinters in the final being white I like our chances.
Let's go get some medals ladies!

I remember back in the day Allan Wells was the king of the Commonwealth games as he was the dominant sprinter in 2 games but these were the days of (sh)amateur athletics and most of the top Commonwealth sprinters showed up for the meets. I recall him dueling with young but still doped Ben Johnson and his dead heat gold sharing 200m race with Mike Mcfarland.

Kennedy could be the first White medalist on the men's side since around this era in the 100m dash but maybe I missed somebody...
I was actually at the track in 1982 to watch that. It is a fond memory

bit rough on Torrie - 1/4 Jamaican at best and speaks just like I do. She's a gem - but it may be I'm the only one here who supports her

wow! a superb second place for Lachlan Kennedy and the fastest white the world has ever seen. 9.85.
Eseme
from Cameroon just manage to get him on the line but both broke Ato Bolden's Games record from when Ato beat Shrivo into 4th place in 1998

Hard luck Lachie Kennedy, edged into second but a fantastic time. 9.85. Got a good start and held his form. In the rain as well. Fastest white man ever.

Love all three of these. Hopeful for Amy as a Brit, but I'll take any!

A time like that in this weather has to be a possible sub 9.8 in the weather we have seen in the south of France and Spain, simply amazing...

The announcers mentioned he was the first Aussie male medalist ever in the 100m dash. I would have thought somebody would have at least snagged a bronze before.

Probably the last White sprinter to be in the mix in the 100m dash was Shirvington but he faded to 4th late at 19??

Lachlan Kennedy backs up the talk! Despite not taking the gold no one in the world can talk smack about the kid anymore. What a legendary performance for all the Ages! I was predicting 9.80's but the kid has a chance at 9.70's now. If only the weather was better who knows what time he runs today. I would say he could have gone 9.75 to 9.79 without a doubt.

I'm crushed for him though in one way. He won the silver at the World Indoor Champs in the 60. Now Silver at the Commonwealths 100 meter Finals. That has to leave him happy but unsatisifed. The kid is hungry for more. Lachlan Kennedy will have a legitimate chance to medal and possibly win the Olympic in 2028. I want to be there to witness it!

Wow, Shirvo was 28 years ago, time flies. I remember watching on TV; could tell it was a less woke age because the commentators were talking about how great it was to see such a fast young white guy. Had such high hopes for Shirvo, but like many others (Lemaitre, Pickering, Boling) he didn't fulfil his potential. Here's hoping Kennedy will become a legit 100m great, medalling in worlds and olympics.

I'd rather a full African win than a quadroon. That's what the Jews want our entire societies to look like in 50 years. If she wins, the diversity racemixing propaganda will go into overdrive.

Hell of a performance. Good start but I must confess that I was expecting him to fade in the last 40, but he kept his form and speed. Ten metres to go I thought he had it, but the Cameroon guy came through so hard at the end. Bittersweet, but just focus on the time. 9.85!

Well done Zoe Hobbs! 10.93. Amy Hunt second: great finishing speed but another bad start.

(Edit: rounded to 10.93. Amy in 10.98)

personally I don't give the faintest hoot "who/what-mix" wins as long as everyone is given the same opportunity to compete

He has more talent than Pickering and is mentally stronger than Lemaitre with his desire to be the best he can be. Really so far in his career he has run as close to his potential as he can run.

I mentioned Wells before and Wells was similar mentally as he never blew it when he lost a race he was just beaten. Watching Shirvington I always felt he had mental barriers blocking ability to reach his full potential.

I watched him closely all through his career and saw the toll it was taking as he was always expected to run sub 10 every next race. He became tighter and tighter in his desperation to achieve that sub 10. He even bought car number plates "SUB10" and never got to use them. Better sell 'em to Lachie.
Shirvo's compering much of the games over here - a very successful TV career

I agree with you. Hell, even if he never runs again, 9.85 makes him world class. But I'm very hopeful he'll run that time and better several times over the next decade. Kennedy and Blasko are the most exciting white sprinters in many years, maybe ever.

Congrats to Zoe Hobbs and Amy Hunt. I will admit I was shocked that Audrey Leduc didn't make the medal stand. She is as talented
as both of these ladies but it just wasn't her day. Aussies have to be going crazy with a gold and a bronze medal in the finals.
