Although the numbers are in line with previous years, this season’s edition of the Kansas City Chiefs feels more like a traditional Fat Bastard team. Gone are annoying “outliers” like RB Carson Steele and the grossly underused WR Justin Watson. Also the underused LB Leo Chenal, who signed with Washington and if the first game of the season is any indicator, will once again be underused at that Caste System hellhole.
The Chiefs started 5 Whites with 16 overall last year, 6/21 in 2024, 5/16 in 2023, and 6/16 in 2022. To begin the current season the numbers are 5/17.
However, that number is inflated with the presence of a White starting fullback, Ben VanSumeran, who is unlikely to be used as anything other than a WSTD, so 4 White starters is the more realistic number.
Travis Kelce last night moved into second place all time for receiving yards by a tight end, surpassing Jason Witten. This is likely his last season after a stellar career marked not only by great receiving numbers but also an Iron Man reliability as he’s never played fewer than 15 games in a season. Kelce’s current all-time numbers stand at 1,083 catches for 13,073 yards and 82 touchdowns. Passing numbers have greatly increased over the past two decades, but regardless Kelce is now the most prolific White receiver in the history of the NFL (to the chagrin of some CF posters

Center Creed Humphrey is simply outstanding, and is now surrounded by an otherwise all-sumo line, with LG Mike Caliendo and C Hunter Nourzad the only other White o-linemen on the roster.
The Chiefs have the common White traffic jam at tight end, with Noah Gray, Jake Briningstool and Jared Wiley backing up Kelce.
LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier was drafted in the seventh round this year and is the current third stringer at the position.
Left defensive end George Karlaftis has been a steady and productive presence. The former first round pick had 48 combined tackles last season with 6 sacks, about average for his career so far. His “non-stop motor” ensures relentless pressure on the quarterback that isn’t always reflected in his stats.
Drue Tranquill is a quality starter year after year at weakside linebacker.
Cooper McDonald is a backup middle backer, while LB Jack Cochrane appears destined for a WSTD career.
Edge Jack Pyburn had a very strong training camp but was still cut by Tampa. He then tried to return to LSU before the Chiefs claimed him. He’s currently buried on the depth chart.
After dominating the NFL for a decade the Chiefs fell to 6-11 in ’25, finishing way behind the Broncos and Chargers. Andy Reid is retooling with a blacker roster and while they thumped the surprisingly inept Broncos in Week One, most CFers will be hoping that’s an aberration and not a trend.
