Which source are you using?

Ourlads has
RUSH - Josh Roberts listed as a Starter

Guessing WR Braden Hoch is White? not mixed ... his Dad is tanned ? Listed as starter too

Always sure to check weekly Box Score for QB Caden Veltkamp to WR Easton Messer connection...began career together @ Western Kentucky..they have been putting up some nice numbers!

I’m using Phil Steele, he’s usually pretty good but his magazine came out earlier this summer so perhaps changes were made to the depth chart since then

I was curious to see what Caden Veltcamp’s pro prospects were after another great season.

According to an AI search:

Scouting evaluations and mock draft projections for Florida Atlantic quarterback Caden Veltkamp showcase a stark contrast between community-led mock simulator databases and traditional national draft media for the 2027 NFL Draft class. [1, 2]

1. Scouting Consensus: Strengths & Weaknesses
National scouting metrics and player profiling place him as a highly productive, prototypical pocket passer: [1, 2]
  • The Physical Profile: Scouts are enamored with his elite frame. Standing at 6'5" and weighing 245 lbs, he checks every physical box required of a classic NFL pocket quarterback. [1, 2]
  • Elite Passing Efficiency: His transition to FAU showcased remarkable efficiency. His 72.1% to 73.1% completion rate and stellar touchdown-to-interception margins (such as throwing 15 TDs to just 3 INTs mid-season) have put him on the radar for deep-ball accuracy and decision-making. [1, 2, 3]
  • Pro Comp Modeling: Analytical draft boards like We-Draft note that his physical build and passing trajectory mirror early-round profiles like Fernando Mendoza (6'5", 236 lbs) and present a 37% match to the developmental frame of a young Josh Allen. [1]
  • The Main Concern: Scouts note his distinct lack of mobility. He struggles strictly as a pocket statue, frequently posting negative rushing yards (e.g., -57 rushing yards on the season), which limits his ability to extend plays in the modern NFL. [1]

2. Mock Draft Predictions
Depending on where you look, Veltkamp's projection sits across two vastly different tiers:
  • The Simulator Hype (Day 2 Track): In online community mock draft platforms like Fanspeak, Veltkamp has gained a massive following, occasionally climbing as high as a fringe first-round or early second-round selection (ADP ~36.7). In these models, his high-volume statistics vault him ahead of other notable underclassmen. [1, 2]
  • The Media Consensus (Late-Round/Undrafted Track): Mainstream draft boards and professional analysts are much more conservative. Outlets like Draft Scout evaluate him closer to QB17 in the 2027 class. Similarly, industry-standard simulation models like Pro Football Network project him much later on the board, currently pinning him around the late 6th or 7th round (Pick #428). [1, 2]

He’s played like a Top 5 QB this year!

17th?! Is flat out disrespect for a 6’5 245lb gunslinger.

Hoping he and Messer get the combine invites they deserve.
