2025 NBA Draft

Would be nice to see Hornets complete the trio with Kalkenbrenner!! 7 footer that isn’t very explosive but has averaged 2.5 blocks for 4 years in Big East. Imagine what he could do with affleticism.

Yeah and he only shot 65% from the field for the past 3 seasons. But yes, he just doesn't have the athleticism needed to excel at the next level. His upside isn't very high. /s

The Miami Heat drafted him at the Number 20 pick of the first round. The Heat have been better to our guys than any other nba team for
a very long time now! He should fit in good there and can learn from Tyler Herro!
Nice to see the Heat with another of our guys. Florida just keeps getting better and better!

It's funny. The Phoenix Suns used to be a very white friendly team that made the playoffs and competed for championships back when they had alot of white guys. With the exception of making the NBA Finals several years ago where they lost, they have been horrible. Why have the Suns went so bad with winning games? They don't draft white guys anymore. They will continue to be mediocre. Also Devin Booker is overrated and a ball hog. He also gets hurt alot and like the Cardinals in the NFL they waste so much money on this guy.

The Hornets draft Ryan Kalkbrenner. That's 3 of their 4 white draft picks that are white! Hope Carolina Speed is happy!

Looks like we have a new Charlotte Hornets Fan. A picture for you from nba.com

And now they take Kalkbrenner! How great is that! Hopefully these 3 guys get playing time. This team is going to almost be as fun to watch as Chicago.

2nd round not as good so far. Only two of our guys in the first 13 picks.

Now we have had 2 of our guys in a row. OKC drafted Brooks Barnhizer & the Bulls took Rocco Zikarsky. Let's go Bulls & Thunder!

I almost forgot the Kings drafted Maxime Raynaud.

2nd round wraps up with 8 of 29 or 28%. I think I predicted 16 as the average I was seeing in the mocks and it went exactly as such for 27% overall.

Updating the overall list now.

THANKS Freethinker! Good stuff! Nice team break down. Casually caught some of the NBA Draft (was working on new 2025 DB's College Football thread tonight)

28% huh...? Crazy to think the NBA Draft is Whiter than the NFL Draft these days!

Great list Freethinker. Looking forward to seeing how the 3 Charlotte guys do, as well as the Brooklyn players and Olbrich in Chicago. And of course Flagg.

Brooklyn also added Grant Nelson UDFA route. Huge Draft snub

Wisconsin 7 footer Steven Crowl to Utah. Playing for a G league spot.

Some more 7 footers

Ashworth a Pacer

OKC with Barnhizer and Sandfort in the wings

Thanks Bucky! I was going to add a UDFA list too but you beat me to it. I think a lot of these guys have a chance of sticking, now that rosters are larger in recent years and there are 2-way deals with the developmental league.

For anyone interested, here’s an overly comprehensive list of players, where they signed and what type of deal.

https://www.rookiescale.com/2025-udfa-tracker/

Not gonna mention summer league deals, but here’s a few more guys who got “exhibit-10” contracts (next best after a 2-way).

Augustus Marciulionis (St Mary’s) to LA Lakers.
Caleb Grill (Missouri) to the Bulls. Great shooter.
Sean Pedulla (Ole Miss) to the Trailblazers. A sleeper guy for me.
Andrew Carr (Kentucky) also to Blazers.
Igor Milicic Jr (Tennessee) to the 76ers.
Tyson Degenhart (Boise State) to the Raptors.

No news on Clemson center Viktor Lakhin. He was someone I saw as a 2nd round pick in a few mocks…..

Seems like a deeper draft and UDFA class than usual! I’ll take it! Doesn’t hurt the worlds greatest athletes keep popping Achilles like they are popping bottles.
