Since 2008 Duke has started 7,7,9, 10, 7,7, 11, 10, 6,6, 5,4,6, 7, 4, 6, and 6 white athletes. They look to improve to 8 whites starters in 2025. The good news is; the entire OL including the TE and a WR are lunch pail types, but only one over achiever will start on defense. Yes, I stated a white WR is set to start for Duke. You would think there would be more coming through with Duke's all time leading receiver in terms of yardage being Duke great Connor Vernon. Harvard transfer Cooper Barkate is slated as one of the starting WR's. He along with TE Jeremiah Hasley will hopefully see many balls thrown their way via super athletic Darian Mensah. We'll see.

A point of interest could be the transfer of RB Anderson Castle from Appalachian St. He's listed third on the depth chart.
The lone starting honkey on defense is MLB Nick Morris.

Offense-
WR-Cooper Barkate GR TR
LT- Bruno Fina GR TR
LG-Micah Sahakian GR TR. I think he's white? Armenian descent, maybe?
C- Matt Craycraft RS JR
RG-Justin Pickett RS SR
RT-Brian Parker II RS JR
TE-Jeremiah Hasley RS JR

Back up of interest-
RB-Anderson Castle GR TR

Defense-
MLB-Nick Morris RS SR

Back up-
RDE-Kevin O'Connor RS SO
MLB-Luke Mergott

Thanks CS for getting us rolling on the previews. If Castle can work into the RB rotation, I might be interested in Duke for the 1st time in years. A WR / RB combo puts them on my radar.

Snowplow is nice! Agreed though, need some overachievers on Defense. Ridiculous they can’t field at least 3-4 starters there perennially.

Barkate and Anderson are interesting but with no QB play from one of our guys makes me indifferent.

And a brief word on the great Connor Vernon. Man, I loved tracking his college career. Dominated the ACC for 3, or maybe even 4, years. Guess he did run fast enough in a straight line for the NFL to declare him draft-able. I know we wrote all about it at the time. Another on the list of all-time Caste screw jobs. Don’t think he made it past a training camp or maybe practice squad (Raiders perhaps?).

Big fan of Vernon as well. Typical White WR treatment. Looks like he went pro in real life though

Damn, forgot all about Conner Vernon. Another great White player sent down the caste memory hole.

I find it funny that Duke swapped out one black QB for another. The media is treating the QB transfer from Tulane like he is some sort of missing piece.
