The half-Korean daughter of a billionaire Jessica Pegula, lauded by the USTA as an example of diversity and inclusion (AAPI)* lost to Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus. Lots of disappointed looking black celebs in the crowd including F1's Lewis Hamilton. I'm guessing he and others were in NYC this weekend because they were expecting black players in the final but it just didn't work out. lol

* Asian-American and Pacific Islander

I haven't heard much of Pegula's racial mix brought up in the media. Probably more attention goes to the fact that she's the daughter of the Buffalo Bills' owner. The diversity-mongers want black (or dark brown/fresh off the boat/non-English speaking). Half-Korean doesn't really get them excited. They want black affletes to pimp.
