Since 2006 Florida has started 6, 6, 6, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 4, 6, 5, 1, 4, 2, 2, 1, 4 and 3 whites. This year they shockingly tie their all time high with 6.

The boost in starters is bolstered by defensive transfers DT Joey Slackman from Penn and Asa Turner from Washington. Both should slide into starting position. Mertz returns at QB as a starter but behind him is a black quarterback express including a highly rated NIL pick up. Despite the uptick in starters depth is hard to come by and I can easily see this team dropping back down to 1 or 2 starters soon. QB Jack Miller who I had high hopes for apparently retired. Edge Jack Pyburn is the only other notable defensive player and he seems to have tumbled down the depth chart.

Effectively zero depth. No OL back ups.

Offense -
QB - Graham Mertz
TE - Hayden Hansen
LT - Austin Barber
OC - Jake Slaughter

Defense -
DT - Joey Slackman
SS - Asa Turner

Depth is non-existent. Some potential back ups include QB Clay Millen, walk-on WR Taylor Spierto and Edge Jack Pyburn.

I just want the SEC stamp of approval to get Slackman, Turner and Mertz some draft recognition. Hopefully Slackman turns into this year’s Braden Fiske.

Mertz career resurgence at UF has been fun to watch as well. Screw Billy Napier though!
