The Bills come into 2024 lead by possibly the best QB in the league, Josh Allen, but missing key stud LB Matt Milano to injury. Last year the Bills had 17 whites on the roster with 6 starters, this year, the Bills will carry 15. With 4 starters.

QB: Josh Allen
OL David Edwards
OL Connor McGovern
TE Dalton Kincaid

Injury starter: LB Baylon Spector

With Dalton Kincaid often playing WR, Dawson Knox, a pure TE, could be considered a 5th starter.

Key players:

Rookie DB Cole Bishop WSTD and rotational player primed to become an eventual starter

Replacement LB Baylon Spector, filling in due to injuries

DE Casey Toohill who is a key rotational player putting up decent numbers

Part 2 coming soon*

Maybe someone can correct me, but it appears RT Spencer Brown out of Northern Iowa is a White man. If so, the totals would be 16 & 5 which is fairly palatable, also factoring in Spector as a current starter and Bishop as a future starter. The practice squad however is rotten and I'm still upset that they never gave Andy Isabella a fair chance and now caste him aside.

Spencer Brown is White, and I agree Spector should be counted as a starter, doesn't matter that he became a starter due to injury, that often happens and the LB he's replacing is out for the season. Bishop's snap share has gone from 0% to 8% to 20% in the first three weeks. Would undoubtedly be higher if he hadn't been injured during much of training camp, so if he becomes a starter at some point the Bills will be up to seven overachievers in the starting lineup. Yes, too bad they don't have Isabella or at least one White receiver, just seems like they should. Cole Beasley could still be an effective piece for them along with Isabella and others but at least Kincaid is used mostly as a receiver.

Well-reasoned article calling for Cole Bishop to replace media darling Damar Hamlin at safety. Hamlin of course suffered a heart attack on the field and had a pick the other week which led to yet another national media outpouring celebrating him. But he's not starter material and Bishop is.

Nice to see an “overachiever” being lauded as the most athletic safety on the team. Be even more nice to see Bishop take the job and run with it.

That article is from five months ago, so the "great" Adam Schefter was wrong on that one.

I did find this article from a day ago urging the Bills to sign Renfrow. It would make perfect sense as the Bills are clearly in desperate need of help at receiver and Renfrow would fill the "Cole Beasley role" and then some but as always this is the NFL, where racial dynamics often trump common sense.

Also, all posts about the Bills should go on the 2024 Bills thread, not the general thread. I moved it to this thread but it's a pain in the butt to do that particular action so everyone needs to try to post in the proper thread.

Big game Sunday against the Chiefs but they may hold him back. Good news though.

Bills LB Matt Milano (biceps) returned to practice on Thursday.
Thursday marked Milano’s second practice since he suffered a torn biceps during training camp. A staple of the Bills’ defense, Milano was expected to return at some point in the season, but when he would return was always up in the air. With the Bills officially opening his 21-day return window, they now have three weeks to activate him from injured reserve, which means the latest we could see him would be Week 14 against the Rams. Milano has been listed as a limited participant in both practices this week.

Bills activated LB Matt Milano from injured reserve.
Milano will make his season debut in Week 13 against the 49ers after suffering a torn biceps in training camp. A week of full practices for Milano capped his lengthy recovery process. Now ready to return to the field as a defensive captain, Milano should immediately boost a Buffalo defense allowing just 19.5 points per game through two-thirds of the 2024 season.
