Good news regarding the emerging Snow Patrol in KC.

Even mainstream media is being forced to recognize the WRs are a glaring weakness. More targets for Gray, Watson, and of course he who shall not be named. LOL

Good thing the Chiefs have a good TE corps and decent RB's as far as catching the ball as their WR's aside from Rice and Watson are pure garbage. Kadarius Toney, in spite of his speed has trouble separating from coverage, has average hands and is not instinctual to avoid tacklers with the ball in his hands. That and he's injured all of the time. The Giants were and are glad to be rid of him. Richie James, well, see previous on Toney right down the the Giant's glee. Valdez-Scantling is EXACTLY the same player he was in Green Bay. Run of the mill player, has trouble getting open, average hands at best, lazy route running. Skyy Moore is one of those "underwear Adonis" players, ran a 4.4 at the combine but looks 4.9 on the field. Can't get open to save his life, even against linebackers, and then it's a 50/50 whether he catches it or not, bust. The rookie Rice was good at SMU and looks good for the Chiefs so far. The Jets were thrilled to get rid of Mecole Hardman. He's good for jet sweeps and maybe a close crossing route and that's it. Has zero feel for route-running, hell, I don't think he can remember routes. Terrible punt returner to, see Broncos game. Watson is no Cooper Kupp or Julian Edelman, but he runs good routes, has decent speed and catches the ball far more often than not.

The Chiefs would be wise the just send MVS on flys and posts all game and throw mids and shorts to Watson, Rice, HWSNBN, Gray and McKinnon out of the backfield. They would be unstoppable and have a mostly-white stat line!

Finally had a second to sit and watch yesterday's game in Frankfurt against the Dolphins. Defense is spectacular with Tranquill, Chenal and Karlaftis tearing things up. The offense though is puzzling. I looked through a few games looking at the plays and you know, it's really not the players fault. The offense looks a lot like the maddening Alex Smith offenses where they could score, but often times would be super conservative. Also similar to the Bears offense that destroyed Mitch Trubiskys career.

It's the Matt Nagy effect. The Chiefs offense is a collaborative product of Nagy and Reid. Previously it was Eric Bienemy and Reid. I looked at the Washington offense this year and yeah, Bienemy is more aggressive with his playcalling which has been both good and bad for Howell, but in the long run it will probably work out. Nagy on the other hand is just a terrible coach, with bland playcalling that ends up making everyone look bad. When I see Mahomes standing in the pocket for 5 seconds and can't find anyone open it's more than just the receivers.
