Klay signs with the Mavs for a 3 year 50 million deal. He has obviously lost step at 34 years old but still shoots 40% from three. I don’t know what to make of it. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40475185/klay-thompson-join-mavericks-3-year-50m-deal
Mavs with Klay would've been competitive in the Finals. Number one issue they had was an overeliance on individual performances by Luka and Kyrie. Simply adding a reliable 3 point shooter they can kick the ball out to is a game changer. Boston feared no one else on the team.

They signed two other black players too. As always they must let Doncic be the cracker on an island other than Kleber. Not the moves
I had hoped for but we should expect nothing less than this from the Mavs!

Slovenian played very poor against "Greece".

Luka getting the summer off might be a good thing.

Latvia whopped Cameroon and a couple of Africans couldn't help Italy against Lithuania.

My thoughts exactly about Luka. However, this off-season will be highly informative. He needs a personal trainer and chef monitoring his every move. He has the rest of his life to drink beer and sweet tea. I remember when Steve Nash was a bit doughy early in his career. He came back from an off-season lean and muscular…then won consecutive MVPs.

Not huge news but Denver signed Dario Saric to a 2 year contract. Hopefully playing with the NBA MVP and former champions will help
to get his career back on track as he has went from team to team the last several years.

In the NBA Summer League tonight Dalton Knecht scored 20 points with 9 rebounds and 1 assist for the Lakers. Their true superstar
Bronny James scored 3 points.

and on a positive note, Serbia clean up the "French" to a solid win of 79-67.

Jokic is also looking more lighter and quicker on his feet from this match

Reed Sheppard, Houston

The No. 3 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft lived up to the hype in his NBA Summer League debut. Sheppard knocked down his first three 3-pointers on his way to an impressive stat line: 23 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocked shots and a steal in the Rockets’ 99-80 victory over the Lakers. He was 9-for-17 from the field, including 4-for-6 from distance. Sheppard also had the highlight of the night, a crossover hesitation move in the third quarter that put fellow rookie Dalton Knecht on skates, leading to a smooth and-1 floater.

Dalton Knecht and Reed Sheppard had great games last night. Bronny James not so much , with a hilarious 3-14 (0-8 from 3) for 8 points and 0 assists. He has no business playing at this level.

For the Lakers Dalton Knecht went off for 25 points!

Looks a bit like Luka here. Nothing flashy but gets to his spots, drains tough shots, makes the right passes, and can score from all 3 levels. I've been really high on Knecht and felt he was the most under-rated player from this draft class.

Nice to see Knecht finding his grove early as a pro. Lakers also have Castleton dominating the post for 2nd straight summer league. Also noticed they have St. Mary's legend Tommy Kuhse!
