I watched one Utah State game last year - their middle linebacker Justin Rice was clearly the best player on the field, popping up out of every tackle pile.

I looked him up; he's barely getting a sniff in the Canadian league for Saskatchewan. Interesting history:

COLLEGE:
Rice played one collegiate season (2021) at Utah State, seeing action in 14 games. The former Aggie recorded 124 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, one-and-a-half sacks, three interceptions, two defended passes and two forced fumbles, earning Second-Team All-Mountain West honours.

The California native previously spent time at Arkansas State University (2020) and Fresno State University (2016-19) earning First-Team All-Sun Belt Conference honours in 2020 and First-Team All-Mountain West honours in 2019.

What a shame that second-year head coach Blake Anderson could not find one single white player for his .500 team's defense this year.
