Veteran CFers knew change was coming when the Mike Zimmer-Rick Spielman regime ended in the Twin Cities. For a number of years the Vikings ranked with the Patriots as the relatively “White friendliest” teams, and Zimmer might still be coaching them except they lost so many close games that spelled the difference between being a potentially great team and an also-ran. Now the team is coached by Kevin O’Connell, and 40-year-old Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is the new GM.

The 2022 Vikings still boast 7 White starters and 16 total on the roster. Veteran star receiver Adam Thielen is still going strong even though cuck sports “journalists” write him off every year as too old. Kirk Cousins is always under-rated when it comes to quarterbacks even though he annually finishes in the top ten statistically or very close to it.

The o-line is 3/5 White.

On defense the team starts the “Harrisons,” nose tackle Phillips and 33-year-old star strong safety Smith. James Lynch, who was a dominating tackle at Baylor, still has yet to crack the starting lineup as a tackle or end.

The practice squad contains two White WRs, Dan Chisena and Travis Toivanen, and WR Blake Proehl is currently on the PUP list. However, knowing how the NFL works, it’s a longshot that any of them ever receive meaningful playing time.

QB: Kirk Cousins, Nick Mullens
WR: Adam Thielen
LT: Blake Brandel
LG: Ezra Cleveland
C: Garrett Bradbury, Austin Schlottmann
RG: Chris Reed
RT: Brian O’Neill
TE: Johnny Mundt

NT: Harrison Phillips
DE: James Lynch
SS: Harrison Smith

Number of White starters: 7
Total Number of Whites on 53 man roster: 16
Grade: D

P: Ryan Wright
PK: Greg Joseph
LS: Andrew DePaola

Practice squad: WR Dan Chisena, WR Travis Toivanen, QB David Blough, TE Nick Muse, C Josh Sokol

Even with the new regime in place, this is still the best team to support in the NFC North. The Packers get worse and worse. The Bears are as black as their namesake. The Lions are improving but still a step below the Vikes.

What I nervously interested to see is the roster composition of the Vikings as more guys from the old regime leave and new guys are drafted or brought in by 'Kwesi'. I am assuming that we are on borrowed time....

An unexpected development in Week One was Johnny Mundt playing 65% of the snaps at TE, compared to Irv Smith's 31%. Smith is coming off a season-ending injury last year so they may just be phasing him and his limitless upside in gradually, or not. Something to monitor obviously.

After the trade deadline, the Vikings but up to 17 Whites and 8 starters! They also have alot of White athletes on the IR and PS so perhaps a few more gets chances as the season progresses.

Yes sir! One of the greatest safeties of the last decade. Too bad there aren’t more Smith types coming up in the league.
