Well looks like RB TJ McDaniel lost his starting job due to injury.. The other back did play well in his place. As long as he's healthy, both him and Lavine should factor in heavily into the RB rotation. They also bring in Former Oklahoma TE Grant Calcaterra after taking a year off. Should provide a great Target for QB Tanner Mordecai(another transfer). Denbow, Jones, and Coxe will be fun to watch on Defense.

Overall they look to start 9 if the OL shakes out how I expect it. One of the better looking squad's in The "American" Conference.

Since 2005, SMU has started 8, 8, 11, 10, 10, 10, 10, 9, 9, 9, 10, 5, 8, 7, and 8 white starters. In 2020 they look to be at 8 again.

SMU moved Trevor Denbow back to safety and he had a big game in his first game back at his original position. 2 tackles, 1 INT, and 2 pass deflections.

SMU sophomore RB TJ McDaniel (ankle) is cleared to play.
It’s been a long road for McDaniel (5'11/204) who suffered an ugly ankle injury back October 2020. The injury forced him to miss the rest of the 2020 season and all of 2021, but he announced on Twitter he’s been cleared to return to football activities. He had been the lead back for the Mustangs in 2020 until the injury with a minimum of 15 carries in the first three games. Tre Siggers was the lead back in 2021, but hopefully McDaniel can come back and be a part of the mix
