Great to see Faneca and Lynch finally receive their due.

Faneca was a beast of a guard, totally dominant. Lynch was also dominant as a rangy hard hitter and big play maker.

Peyton Manning of course was a shoe-in, one of my very favorite players ever, a genius at what he did, comparable to Larry Bird on the basketball court and Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux on the rink.

I was watching the show last night and turned the channel when I saw TJ Watt lose the DPOY to Donald. Cursed, then moved on to hoops.

Was reading about John Lynch today, and he didn't become a starting safety for Tampa until his fourth season, something I was unaware of or had forgotten.

How could it have happened that a 9-time Pro Bowl selection and a Hall of Famer who was drafted in the third round had to wait so long to start?

Let's see, Lynch went to Stanford, a university known for its rigorous academic standards even for athletes, and is today a successful NFL executive, so it wasn't because he wasn't able to learn the playbook.

Lack of athleticism? Lynch was a two-sport star at Stanford, drafted as a pitcher in the second round by the Florida Marlins and the third round by the Buccaneers.

Hmmm, what could possibly explain this long apprenticeship then?

If you pointed this out to a DWF he would offer all sorts of explanations but the real one. It was, of course, because of the discrimination against white players in the NFL. A DWF simply can't conceive of this. It goes against his brainwashing.
