Hedda Hynne of .... NORWAY! .... just ran a world leading time of 1:58.10 in the 800m!
Warholm now has 6 of the 12 fastest times in world history. To put that in perspective, no other athlete appears on the list more than once.Karsten Warholm with the fastest recorded average times in a season in the history of track & field over the 400 meters hurdles! Warholm is so close to the world record! It's destined to happen in the near future! Absolute legend!
in watching the race where Hunt nicks Schippers(who eased up at the wire) at the wire it hits me how poor these times are all across the board. 11.20 is the winning time which is slow for this level of athletes. Yah I know it is a season to forget because of all the BS being force fed to world and most of the athletes look at it as a training season at best.....but 11.42 for Schippers??????? That is not even a good time for her training runs.....
On a positive note: Hunt is going to be a top level 110/200m in the next few years.......
Filippo Tortu runs another sub 10.10 but finished in 3rd place. Tortu is still the best sprinter we have worldwide at the moment and he is only 22 years of age. He will hit his peak in another 4 to 6 years. I predict he will be in the 9.80s in the coming years. I think his biggest weakness is speed endurance which will come as his body continuees to mature. He had a nice season compared to last year despite not going sub 10 this summer. The future is bright for this italian stallion!

Doha Diamond League took place today and I missed Amy Hunt run the 100. She placed 6th with a time of 11.43. Little ticked because I have never seen her run. Interestingly Payton Chadwick placed 7th with a 11.51 time. Chadwick did win the 100H with a 12.78 time. Made it look easy although Nadine Visser who had been dominating of late wasn't there.
Yousef Karam was 2nd in the 400 with a 45.72 time. And "old timer" Christophe Lamaitre placed 3rd in the 200 with a 20.68 time. He got off to a slow start.
Not positive but this might be the last track event of the year?
He had a great career despite him only being world
class for 4 or 5 years. Double European Gold Medalist over 100 & 200 meters and medals at the olympics and world championships putting him in the top 3 in the world in the sprints at that time. Life time bests of 9.92 and 19.80 are also outstanding.
We just wish he had the desire to be the best as his genetics were similar to Bolt. Maybe it's good he didn't sell out his values to cheat to become the fastest. He has never tested positive for anything and is clean as a whistle. Christophe Lemaitre ran
those times just from natural ability and very little weight lifting or supplements. I enjoyed the ride while it lasts. He will probably compete one more year with the olympics being next summer in Japan.
