It sure seemed like Scotty was heading towards at the very least a good game when he caught a nice 19 yarder right out of the gate. But he didn't have a catch in the second half and dribbled to a finish. Which pretty much summed up this week for receivers. A let down week.
That said at the half way point I believe Miller is sitting on a 25-400-2 stat line which is pretty solid. Only trusty veterans Kupp, Thielen and Beasley have better stats than Miller. However with Antonio Brown's expected arrival I wonder how much it will affect Miller's production? And Godwin should be back soon too so Miller will be operating as a likely 4th receiver. I don't want to jump to conclusions just yet. It could be with so many wide receivers it might open up some more space for Miller to operate. That is called putting a smiley face on a possibly bad situation. Ha.
The other annoying moment last night was WR Justin Watson has been clearly demoted and doesn't take any snaps on offense anymore. Just a special teamer now and I can't quite figure out why? He seems better than this Mickens fellow. Just another example of the frustrating trends we are witnessing this year.
A strange game but it sets up a big Bucs matchup against the Saints next week. The Giants have only won one game but at least they are competitive. Which is more than one can say for the Gase led Jets. Gase is a goner and I am surprised they haven't pulled the plug on him yet.
