Since 2006 the Razorbacks have started 6, 7, 5, 7, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7, 6 ,6 ,5 , 8 whites. Last season was 7. This year back up at 9!

New Starter ...no where to be found on pre season Depth Charts .....Walk on (Redshirt Freshman) Corner Back Hudson Clark. Had 3 INT''s vs Ole Miss + 8 tackles vs. Auburn; gets the opportunity with injuries /COVID to the players ahead of him.

Not really much to talk about on Offense. John Stephen Jones the only white scholarship QB looks buried on the Depth Chart. TE Hudson Henry younger brother of NFL TE Hunter ....needs to stay healthy.
Others to Watch for ..TE's Blake Kern & Freshman Blayne Toll ; HS 4 Star recruit as a Defensive End @ 6'-5" 245

On Defense the Razorbacks have a Snow Patrol Unit at Linebacker ...Bumper Pool who could be ALL SEC; Hayden Henry (younger brother of NFL Hunter) & Grant Morgan (younger brother of WR Drew)

Oklahoma transfer LB Levi Draper could push to Start in 4-3 Defense. LB Zach Zimos also on 2 Deep
Walk on LaCrosse player DB Nathan Parodi @ 5'-9" 175 likely Special Teams Ace...3rd Team Free Safety...Returning Punts at times

Also yesterday LB Bumper Pool was Out injured ; So Grant Morgan stepped up by having a eye popping 19 Tackles; ; a Sack & Pick SIX INT; playing w one arm!

Hudson Clark, the walk-on redshirt freshman cornerback, had a game for the ages against Ole Miss, and he is deservedly gaining some rave reviews.

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman has announced that Clark will be placed on scholarship in January when one becomes available.

Following their performances in a 33-21 victory over Ole Miss, redshirt senior LB Grant Morgan has been named SEC co-Defensive Player of the Week while redshirt freshman DB Hudson Clark earned SEC Freshman of the Week recognition, the conference office announced Monday.


Morgan was all over the field and made a career-high 19 tackles with 3.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, two passes broken up and an interception return for a touchdown. With Arkansas leading 26-21 late in the fourth quarter, he picked off his first career pass and returned it 23 yards for a score, sealing a Razorback win. The Greenwood, Ark. native set a career-high with 3.0 tackles for loss, which included two solo stops for loss. Morgan became the second FBS player since 2000 to record at least 15 tackles with 3.0 tackles for loss and an interception return for a touchdown. His 19 tackles are the second-most in a single-game by an FBS player this season, trailing teammate Bumper Pool’s 20 stops at Mississippi State, which also won Pool SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors. The Hogs have now claimed multiple defensive player of the week awards for the first time since 2010.

Making his second career start, Clark turned in one of the most memorable Razorback performances of late, becoming the first freshman in school history to intercept three passes in the same game. Clark also made five tackles and allowed just one completed pass. His three picks are tied for second-most in a game in school history and third-most in conference history while becoming the first SEC freshman to intercept three passes since Mississippi State’s Darren Williams in 2003 against Troy. The walk-on is tied for the nation’s season-lead in interceptions (3) and is the sole leader among freshmen. Alongside Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence, the Dallas, Texas product was named one of PFF’s two College Football MVPs of the Week. He earned Arkansas' first SEC Freshman of the Week award since Cole Kelley in 2017.

Both Morgan and Clark were part of a Razorback defense that intercepted six passes against the Rebels, tying for the fifth-most single-game total in school history. The Razorbacks lead the nation with 10 interceptions this season

as an aside, to my knowledge, Clark is the only starting White cornerback in Division I football (pending Iowa’s Riley Moss beginning his season).

and to think, a (White) player of this obvious talent (in addition to his 3 interceptions, he only allowed 1 completed pass) only got this opportunity due to the crazy series of events surrounding the Coronavirus AND several injuries in the Arkansas secondary. such is the struggle to overcome the Caste System.

its ridiculous that there are not more white corners...especially when horrible teams like Vandy, Rutgers, etc... can never stop anyone. If i were coaching NCAA football i would sit down and say to my staff (hey guys, what we have done is not working as we can't stop anyones passing game, so lets try to find undervalued DB's so we can trend in the right direction because things can't possibly get worse), why don't coaches think like that? Would they rather get their heads kicked in with affletes or improve with the best student athletes available? No one will question it if you improve you're team so its a no brainer to me. Thoughts anyone?

Andrew Bird was/is a starting Corner Back for Rice. (See 2020 DB's thread) . Guess that's pending too (Riley Moss). Rice has still yet to play a game. Slated to finally play this Saturday(24th) vs. Middle Tennessee.

Maybe, just maybe...Hudson Clark's story can ignite a bit of an uptick. The exposure can be the spark that lights the fire! A few more athletic HS prospects will be recognized with Scholarship opportunities ; instead of just Walk-on status; despite being a white athlete.

the author does a terrific job researching the details of Clark’s high school performance, including a compilation of Division I signees at receiver that “Hud Island” shut down over his career. the only thing the reporter didn’t do was take the final step of naming the “unknown” reason for the lack of scholarship offers.

TwentyTwo, thanks for mentioning Andrew Bird. for some reason, i thought he had been moved to safety like so many others before him.

wokewhite232, a big reason for the affirmative action in collegiate athletics is due to federal dollars coming from federal mandates regarding the percentage of black and brown “students” at universities and colleges. if the academic (sic) institutions want that money, they have to show they’re making all efforts to have a certain number of non-White students. and since they obviously can’t meet those numbers with real academic students, they’ve inflated the number of black athletes and arts students. hence, the creation of the Big Lie of black athletic supremacy.
