2019 Texas Longhorns

Since 2006, Texas has started 7, 6, 8, 9, 8, 5, 6, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6 and 6. In 2019 they will start 6 again all on offense.

This will be one of the darkest defenses in all of college football with only 1 player who may get playing time in Rob Cummins.

Jake Smith will see the field but most likely won’t start since he is still really raw as a receiver.

OL Reese Moore is one of the most athletic offensive linemen I’ve ever seen. As a senior tight end he averaged almost 27 yards per catch(!!!!) and 5 TD’s. He also played d-line and was all-state at tight end and punter. He was also an all-state basketball player and threw discus.

4 of 5 OL seems really good for Texas.

Ehlinger is a Beast in the limited games I've seen of him.

Ehlinger reminds me a little of Baker Mayfield with better running abilities.

And all everything Jake Smith is a Taysom Hill type whose primary position is WR. Anxious to see what he can do out there.

But when I see zero white starting defenders I can't cozy up to a team. It turns me off big time.

Walk on DB Mason Ramirez was moved to RB this offseason since Texas is thin at that position. He was named player of the game for their scrimmage and was awarded a scholarship afterwards. Hopefully he can see the field at some point this season, likely the 4th RB.

Jake Smith update.

All everything stud Smith won't be playing RB early on. The head coach wants him to learn the nuances of being a wide receiver. It is possible he shows up on offense for a few package plays. I just don't know.

However he was named their punt returner and will be one of the two players who stand at the end zone to return kick offs. Even this caste laden coaching staff realizes they have to get him out on the field.

Smith is arguably the most important white freshman this season here at CF. Strikes me as a cross between Taysom Hill and CM.
