Shadowlight, I always enjoy your posts even if it hurts. Yes, I stated earlier that I was hoping Trout would wait to sign with another team with some protection. It would be a wonderful thing to see him along with Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner play for a team that had power and score runs! To their credit, the Angels have had some bad luck. As mentioned, Upton getting injured as well as Ohtani, 22 homeruns/104 games, showed promise last year. Ohtani is making progress from Tommy John surgery and should be able to DH sometime this season. The Angels supposedly have some hot shot prospect, Jo Adell, almost ready to come up from the minor leagues, although I haven't heard much lately on him. However, the Angels have made some dumb mistakes as well. Signing Pujols to long term big contract was not very wise.

As for Charlotte becoming a MLB City. You can forget that for years....to come. Way too many challenges right now. Getting enough sponsorships to support MLB
on top of NASCAR, NBA All Star Game, UGH!, PGA Championship as well as NFL and NBA franchises already!
On top of all of that, Charlotte built the existing $55 million, 10,200-seat BB&T Field Ball Park in uptown Charlotte in 2014 where the AAA Charlotte Knights already play. The Ball Park cannot be retrofitted to accommodate MLB specifications!
The good news is, The Knights are among the league leaders in attendance every year, but it will be awhile before MLB arrives in Charlotte.

Again Shadowlight, I always enjoy your posts as well as many others here at CF. Thank you.

Carolina the media keeps pushing Carolina and Portland as the two front runners for MLB expansion. They want to add two more teams which makes little sense given the dour situations for the Florida teams. If it isn't Charlotte could it be the Raleigh/Durham area? Sounds like they would have to build a brand new ballpark in Charlotte. Right there is no way they could retrofit a minor league stadium into a modern MLB ball park. These new baseball ball parks are incredible with all the bells and whistles. They are superior to the old ballparks in terms of sight lines, comfort etc. And they cost a fortune. Based on what you are saying it sure doesn't sound like Charlotte is anywhere near of getting an MLB franchise.

People in Hartford are still pissed off about the Carolina Hurricanes who originally were the Hartford Whalers. I don't think they are allowed to play the Whalers fight song though which is one of the killer team songs of all time.

And for our sake lets hope Mike Trout overcomes his listless lineup and finds a way to hit big.

Keep up the good work.

Saw the Nats for the first time this year. They seem very white, which has been the trend the past few years. Will do a writeup once I see them a few more times.

Believe it or not, MLB is reportedly really high on bringing Montreal back, providing they build a brand-new, state-of-the-art Stadium. I think it could happen, but expansion does not seem imminent. Montreal desperately wants to be in the A.L. East with Toronto, the New York Yankees and Boston. All three would spike the Expos 2.0 attendance, for obvious reasons, so my guess is they'd love to snag the Tampa Bay Rays and relocate them. Good luck with that, only one MLB team (Expos) has moved since 1972! Mexico has been hyped by MLB, but I don't think it's possible, even though your average, idiot DWF's thinks it's a "great idea".

As far as Mexico City is concerned, how does MLB overcome the seemingly insurmountable Exchange Rate issues? Montreal Expos, Vancouver Grizzlies, Winnepeg Jets 1.0 and the Quebec Nordiques all moved to the U.S. and exchange rates were largely blamed. The U.S. dollar is usually much more in line with the Canadian dollar (1.33 today) than the Mexican Peso (19.35 today). This means Canadian teams in sports have to pay $1.33 to players to match $1.00 U.S. dollar, which does cause financial hardship.....Mexican teams would have to pay over 19 peso's to match $1.00 U.S. dollar. I believe, despite Rob Manfred's bullspit, this makes Mexican expansion nearly impossible. There are also other issues with Mexico: Astronomical crime rates/kidnappings of the wealthy, rampant poverty, bad water, thin air that will make Coors Field look like a pitchers paradise and other factors, such as how much of a negative effect would MLB expansion have on the current 16 team Mexican League?

P.S: Shadowlight, the only reason the New York Mets and Houston Astros currently exist is because William Shea (Shea Stadium fame) wanted to form a new league in the early 1960's to compete with MLB's "original 16". League never came to fruition, but 7 of the proposed cities would join MLB by 1993. Only city to never make it is Buffalo. Not a well-known fact, but it is true*. I don't think Buffalo has ever been seriously considered by MLB and for good reason.

As CF's self-anointed resident "hockey expert" (LOL ), I can tell you the NHL team in Raleigh has a new owner ( AAF's top investor) and he has fully embraced the clubs "Whaler-roots", since he took control from the odious and creepy Peter Karmanos last fall. Twice this season the usually red-clad team has worn old-school, original road green (circa 1979-1992?) Hartford Whalers uniforms. Both games were against ex-Adams division rival Boston Bruins. One game in Raleigh; one in Boston. The iconic "Brass-Bonanza" was played after goals in Raleigh**. Whalers merchandising is, by far, #1 in the NHL for non-current (defunct) NHL teams. Realizing that, commissioner Bettman might've nudged their new owner to dress his team in Whalers green in order to increase sales even more?

The NY Yankees have been decimated with injuries, all of them to non-White players. The result is they are starting a lineup tonight that is 7 out of 9 White!

CF Brett Gardner, 1B Luke Voit, 3B DJ LeMahieu, LF Mike Tauchman, DH Clint Frazier, 2B Tyler Wade, C Austin Romine.

I’m going to enjoy this while it lasts.

Bryce Harper went 3-5 with a HR in his return to DC last night.

But bad news in that game. Speedster Trea Turner, one of the most important caste busters in all of sports, broke his index finger while trying to bunt. The only positive is at least it wasn't a leg injury but he will be out for a while. Not sure how long though.

Mike Trout was intentionally drilled in the hand two nights ago too but shook it off. I don't think Mike Trout will see a fast ball strike for the entire year. You can't hit home runs with balls off the plate.

Right Shadowlight. He was hit by Felix Hernandez, whom Trout has owned over the years. Has hit several HR's on Hernandez. Doesn't surprise me. Trout was hit earlier in the second or third game also. Has been hit twice already! Home opener tomorrow for the Angels. I look for Trout to do some damage this weekend.

Anyone see the Dodgers v. Giants game last night? Dodgers were all white at least for the first few innings that I watched. **** Hernandez is a white Hispanic (not white-ish). The Giants were also very white with maybe one Hispanic (Parra) who could also be Italian. Am paying more attention to MLB for the fist time in about 30 years. Very white-friendly league so far this year.

Indeed. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the official 2019 Caste Football “Team to Root for”.

Out of their position players, even the bench guys are almost all White. They include super utility guy Chris Taylor, 1B / 3B David Freese and 4th outfielder Alex Verdugo. Verdugo looks entirely White, but since he hails from Tucson, Arizona, it’s possible he could be a “White hispanic”. The only non-White Dodger out of the position players is light skinned mulatto Russell Martin, who serves as the backup catcher.

This got me thinking, who’s the GM of this wonderful roster? Could he secretly be /ourguy/? Well it turns out the guy in charge for the last 4 years, when most of the roster has been constructed, is a Paki by way of Canadastan named Farhan Zaidi. In an interesting twist, this offseason the Paki bolted to the Giants. Now team president (((Andrew Friedman))) has elected to move forward without a GM for the time being. Strange.

It’s very satisfying to see the Dodgers roster makeup. I’ve been a Dodgers fan since I was a kid, and there have been some pretty dark years. Go Dodgers!

Haha - nice when your team from when you were a normie is the one you can still cheer for as they are fair to whites. I grew up a Patriots fan in football so have enjoyed the 17 year dynasty. Would not still cheer for a nearly all-black team like the Raiders or Jets if they were my team growing up. I was a Red Sox fan as well, so enjoyed the mostly white World Series teams (save for the last one). Am into baseball again for the first time in 30 years thanks to it seemingly being very white again (though I have not seen all the teams like the White Sox, Marlins and Tigers, who likely suck in terms of playing whitey).

Props to Freethinker. I assumed Verdugo was your standard white kid of Southern European decent. Actually, he's the son of a typical Mexican looking man (shorter, dark skinned, heavy set) and a lily white woman. Obviously, like Derek Jeter, he looks 100% like his maternal side. In Jeter's case, his old man was so dark black, he had your stereotypical ******* look. In Verdugo's case, he looks like a white man that recently arrived from the U.K. Tony Romo and Evan Longoria have similar backgrounds, but Verdugo is whiter looking than both. Alex's sister, conversely, looks like she illegally crossed the border, via Guatemala or El Salvador.

http://allsportstucson.com/2017/07/...d-him-into-top-baseball-prospect-he-is-today/

I don't have much problem rooting for Verdugo, although he does come off a bit whiggerish. He actually speaks Spanish and even represented Mexico in baseball tournaments, so if our Kosher chums and their retarded Shabbos Goy (i.e. Keith Olbermann types) come after the Dodgers with long knives drawn for being too white, they can say they have three "Hispanics" in their lineup as well as a very special outfielder?

Verdugo is one Hispanic. Obviously Enrique (Kiki) Hernandez is a white man from Puerto Rico. Finally, if they count Verdugo as Hispanic, then Austin Barnes should be in the same boat, as he's the nephew of long time (lighter skinned) Mexican American player (Yankees & A's) and coach Mike Gallego. Gallego's Mexican sister married a blue-eyed white man I assume?

Let's not forget about very special outfielder Joc Pederson, who's the son of a goy that played a couple games for the Dodgers (mid 1980's?) and a Jewish woman. He identifies as Jewish and also has represented Newt Gringrich, Sean Hannity, Mike Pence, Tony Scaramucci, Dick Cheney, the entire Bush family, Grandma Dana Perrino, Bill O'Reilly, Ted Cruz, Jeanine Pirro and Mike Huckabee's favorite nation-state in the WBC: Israel. Considering the Dodgers have the top player from "Team Israel", my guess is it could be considered a "hate-crime" if someone like Olberdork ever took them to task for lacking diversity!

And let's not forget the half black/half Japanese skipper leading the way, Dave Roberts. So there you have it. Proof that the Dodgers have a very "diverse" lineup! Case closed! Olbermann just needs to shut up and play with his prized baseball card collection.

When ever I predict good things for players like Trout the opposite occurs and the player usually dovetails into a long slump! Maybe Carolina is a good luck charm. Mike clobbered 5 home runs in their opening home stand against Texas. I figured I had plenty of time to dump my garbage on Saturday and get back for Trout's at bat because if the Angels are on TV I always tune in to watch Trout bat, but when I came back there was all sorts of commotion. Trout smacked a grand slam. I was happy he hit it but I missed it. Ha. Watched it on replay a few times though. Anyway it was a deep shot to left and you could tell the second his bat touched the ball it was an absolute rocket shot. Got the fat part of the bat on it. What a glorious site.

Still he has to deal with that desert line up. Brutal. He gets walked every other at bat it seems.

LA Dodgers' 23 year old 1B/OF Cody Bellinger is off to a phenomenal start! Leading the league in HR's, 10, Runs, 24, Hits 32, BA. .432, OBP. 512, SLG. 912. OPS. 1.431 and TB 68!
There's a long way to go, but if he keeps this up, he could become the new WAR king, 2.2 already and ahead of Mike Trout, 2.0.
Speaking of Trout, He was off to another record setting start, until a groin injury sidelined him for 3-4 games. He's back, but not quite to his usual self. I look for him to get back to normal this weekend.
Trout is leading the league in BB, 17, OPB. .571, OPS. 1.352, OPS. 273 and has already been hit by pitches 4 times this year, which of course leads the league. At the current rate, he'll be hit a record 40 times this season.
Seems suspicious? Barry Bonds was hit 106 times in his career, 22 years. Trout has already been hit 69 times in what amounts to about 7 years. Trout has already been hit at least 10 times in a season 4 times. Five if you count this season, which looks very certain. While Bonds was hit only 10 times twice in his entire career!

Bellinger is a wiry lithe great all around athlete in the Shawn Green mode. The question on him has been his contact rate but so far this season he has been on cue.

These two players are forever linked but both OFs Clint Frazier ( Yankees) and Austin Meadows (Tampa Bay) are off to nice starts.

Cody Bellinger has broken the MLB total base record for March/April with 88 as of Saturday. He's hit another HR,(14) today and has added to his record plus tied the MLB record for most HR's before may 1st. Christian Yelich also tied the record last night.
Bellinger with another 5 total bases has set the record at 93 total bases through March/April.
Bellinger currently leads the league in: Runs, 31, Hits, 44, BA. .420. OBP. .500, SLG. .890, OPS 1.390,
OPS+ 259, and TB, 93! Now tied with Yelich in HR's with 14.
….and WAR 3.1.

The Padres are going to deeply regret signing Machado to a mega million dollar contract. They failed to do their due diligence. If they had, they'd have seen Machado's splits away from Baltimore are just downright bad.

Home (BAL): 1837 AB / 107 HR / .293 / .352 OBP / .528 SLG / .880 OPS /
AWAY : 1989 AB / 72 HR / .269 / .319 OBP / .442 SLG / .761 OPS
https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=machama01&year=Career&t=b

The Padres basically mortgaged their future for a .269 / .319 OBP / .442 SLG player. Sad!

So how is Manny doing so far in San Diego? .236 BA / .325 / .368 SLG / 4 HR / 0.8 WAR. Not a great start , and only what, about 10 years to go on the contract?

Compare to a white SS for the Cardinals that nobody's ever heard of and has never been promoted and worshipped by the media (and never will be since he's white), Paul DeJong: .342 BA / .403 / .607 SLG / 5 HR / 2.2 WAR

Addison Russell, the once highly touted Cubs negroidish rookie, demoted to AAA

https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/cubs-option-addison-russell-triple-thursday

Before Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Cubs president Theo Epstein told reporters that the team will activate Russell from the restricted list on Thursday and then demote him to Triple-A Iowa.
Russell was suspended for 40 games last September after violating MLB's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.

Just bringing some of that wonderful diversity to MLB:

https://sports.yahoo.com/troubling-...-russell-ex-wife-ex-girlfriend-211724996.html
It includes everything from times Russell is accused of physically abusing her to the time he tried to trip her while she was pregnant and when he tried to get her to have sex in a hospital shower while their young son was hospitalized.

Among the most troubling parts was the first time she says Russell abused her during Spring Training in Arizona:

“He kicked the door down and ripped Aiden [their son] out of my arms. I’m following him, like…please give him to me, I’m nervous. I don’t think he’s going to hurt [Aiden] but he’s drunk,” Reidy explains. “Honestly I’ll never forget that. That feeling was like, you know when your dad yells at you when you’re a kid, and you’re like, “[Expletive]. I’m about to get a spanking.” It’s probably the scariest thing as a kid to feel. That’s basically what I can relate it to.”

Reidy says Russell had their son in one arm, and grabbed the front of her shirt with the other, throwing her across the room and onto the ground. “I was this close to my head hitting the coffee table,” she continues, “I just sat up and looked and he closed the bedroom door and had Aiden in there.” She went into the other room, and retrieved Aiden when she heard Russell go out onto the balcony. She fell asleep and woke up to him in bed with the two of them. Afterward, she was the one who felt like she had to apologize.

Reidy also talked about another alleged incident where Russell tackled her on the street and yelled at her after he interrupted her night out with friends:

“He slammed me into concrete…like, football tackled me. His friend was there and Carlie was there and they watched it. I was down, he was on top of me, yelling in my ear, saying, “You like doing this to me. You push my buttons. Do you like it when I get like this? Do you like doing this? You like pushing me to the point where I have to act like this.”

Reidy also says she found evidence that Russell was cheating on her again during spring training 2017 and left to go home to Florida. She said she returned to Chicago in May so he could see their son. During that visit, Reidy says Russell got angry and grabbed her by the throat.

Reidy says she agreed to come back to Chicago in May after Russell insisted he wanted to see his son. She wanted to see Aiden’s half-sister Mila for her birthday and figured it was an opportunity to see if he’d meant anything he’d told her about how he was trying to change. It was fine for “the first two days”, and then things went right back to how they had been before. “He said something rude to me, and I responded, “What, do I look like a maid or something?” I was sitting on the couch texting…obviously it pissed him off,” She remembers the kids were playing on a small trampoline by the TV. “He walks over and grabs me by my throat and pins me up against the couch. He’s like, “Who the **** do you think you’re talking to?” I had to pull my knees up and push him off.”

Alex Reyes, the hispanic *******, that has been highly touted and promoted as a top prospect for several years, but who's never really produced, goes on "IL" after a chimpout.

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/...s-breaks-finger-by-punching-wall-after-start/

St. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Alex Reyes punched a wall following his most recent Triple-A start and fractured the left pinky on his non-throwing arm
Reyes hurt himself after his April 25 start in which he allowed three runs in 2 2/3 innings. The first came on a wild pitch in the first inning, the other two were charged to him after leaving the third inning with the bases loaded. Cardinals fans have been waiting a while for Reyes to make his return to the big leagues, and now the wait will be pushed back even more.

As St. Louis' top prospect in 2015 and 2016, Reyes received a 50-game suspensions after he tested positive for marijuana. He missed the conclusion of the Arizona Fall League season and the start of the 2016 season. Then Reyes missed the entire 2017 season because of Tommy John surgery. In 2018, Reyes made his first MLB appearance since 2016 but in June, Reyes underwent surgery for a torn tendon in his lat muscle, effectively ending his season.

Reyes began the 2019 season in the Cards bullpen, but was optioned to the minors on April 7 amid continuing command issues while pitching in relief (5 R, 3IP, 6 BB).

Yes, thank you knightedsoldier for all the updates. I am aware of Dejong and others, but just haven't been able to post as regularly. I wish you would post more often, but I understand.
I don't think this was covered, but the hype over Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will make you sick also. There's already been comparisons to Mike Trout. I would eat before you read the article. Pure insanity!
https://bleacherreport.com/articles...e-mike-trouts-greatest-ever-mlb-rookie-thronehttps://bleacherreport.com/articles...e-mike-trouts-greatest-ever-mlb-rookie-throne

Jr. better get on it quickly. He'll have to steal 49 bases, hit 30 HR's, score 129 runs, hit .326 and have a 10.5 WAR. All of that in the next 130 games or so that's left in the season.
So far Jr.'s stats: through 5 games:
WAR, -0.1, 3 hits, 1 double, 6 K's, BA. .167 and no stolen bases. No reason to think he'll steal many bases. He stole 27 in 288 minor league games. Doesn't say how many times he was caught. Trout steals at an 85% success rate.
Last night he was 0-4, 2 K's against who else but the Angels. Trout was 2-4, D and 3 RBI's.
BTW, he should start by losing some weight. Trout looks like an NFL RB/LB while Guerrero Jr. looks like he should be the fat man in the circus.
I know it's early and Jr. will probably get better, but he or anyone else can't remotely be compared to Mike Trout. It will be a long time before we see another Trout. Probably not in my lifetime!

I have been in a awful mood lately and one of the many reasons is this chronic unease over the baseball season. Mike Trout who is being pitched around is off to a mundane start for him. Cody Bellinger looked to be on his way to a historic season but separated his shoulder recently and has suddenly lost all of his pop and crackle. He has not hit a HR since the injury and doesn't look like the same player all of a sudden.

But it hit me like a ton of bricks last night. In the David Price thread Booth casually commented on a minor league game he attended and how many non white foreign players filled up the rosters. In that thread there is some discussion on it and I mentioned how the lower level minor leagues, usually the source for stars down the road, is filled to the top with extremely young foreign mostly non white players.

But as I finished up with the Bucks- Celtics game I wandered around the MLB network and I noticed the league has transformed itself into a Dominican Republic like league. I knew that the surge of mixed black and mixed Hispanic ( along with some white Hispanics) was taking place but I guess I have been avoiding the true reality. The fact is team after team is overloaded with south of the border talent. It is worse than I thought. Much worse.

And many of the Dominican players are mixed or fully black. Yes there are still some white players, notably pitchers, but by God this league has changed dramatically. All this talk about baseball being a white man's sport is a load of junk.

No wonder I have lost some of the pure excitement I used to feel for baseball. Like the Premier League in England, MLB has steadily and quickly changed the face of their players.

Is white death right around the corner?
