2018 Wyoming Cowboys

Since 2005, Wyoming has started 15, 17, 14, 16, 15, 13, 14, 12, 11, 13, 11, 15 and 9 whites. In 2018, they go back up to 10 white starters but only at "acceptable" positions on offense. The biggest attraction here is SS Andrew Wingard who should be one of the top NFL prospects at his position. Keep an eye out for a big year from him, which should cement him in as a selection in the first two rounds.

Wyoming has a dynamic becoming typical of many midwestern schools, featuring a mix of local white players (mostly from Wyoming and Colorado) and imported non-whites (largely southern California and Florida). They do not feature any starting skill position players aside from strong armed RS Freshman QB Tyler Vander Waal but WRs Ayden Eberhardt and Gunner Gentry (Tanner's brother) are both second string as underclassmen. The biggest disappointment is Wyoming's decline in white defensive players, who seem to be being replaced by polynesians.

Back ups include QB Nick Smith, FB Jeff Burroughs, WR Ayden Eberhardt, WR Gunner Gentry, TE Josh Harshman, LT Pahl Shwab, C Logan Harris, RG Zach Watts, RT Frank Crum, NT Conner Cain, and LB Adam Pilapil.

Go Pokes! Though as you stated decline in white players losing jobs to Polys on Defense is concerning.. Especially considering Wilson and Wingard are the Stars on that side of the ball!

Like Bucky I still think Wyoming is a team to get behind especially given the importance of future NFL player S Wingard and LB Logan Wilson. Sounds like the D is taking the BYU Poly route which is a problem.

Like so many other teams we will have to see if any white WRs emerge as the season plays out.

I have a feeling Eberhardt will crack the lineup this season, ill be keeping ab eye open for him tonight. Wyoming has a couple of afflete WRs that blew out their knees and apparently Eberhardt has taken advantage during spring ball. He also ran routes for Josh Allen, during Allen's pro day. Good exposure for a Redshirt Sophomore. Also good news as he was rewarded a scholarship this summer!
