Since 2005, Maryland has started 4, 5, 5, 4, 4, 10, 8, 9, 8, 6, 7, and 3 white players (excluding 2015 where there was no write-up). In 2018 they project to remain one of the shitstains of the Big 10 with 4 white starters. Coming off a 4-8 record, a Maryland player died of heat stroke in the offseason so they fired head coach DJ Durkin, replacing him with former-OC Matt Canada. Their 2018 recruiting class was 22/24 black, with the two being LB Chance Campbell and K Joseph Petrino.

Back-up FB Jake Funk (JR) was 2015 Gatorade Maryland Player of the Year with 249 carries for 2,866 yards and 52 TDs (state record), with 270 yards and 7 TDs in the state championship to cap off a 14-0 season. 58 career carries from 24 games, averaging 5.4 yards per carry in 2017 with 5 TDs. He's the only reason to cheer for this team but I doubt he gets the chances to show what he has. He is, of course, the only white player allowed on the roster at RB or WR, and there sure isn't any DBs.

Offense
TE: Avery Edwards (SR)
LG: Sean Christie (SR)
C: Johnny Jordan (SO)
RG: Brendan Moore (SR)

Defense
None

Back-ups listed on the two deep: FB Jake Funk, TE Noah Barnes, TE Antonio Dicerbo, LG Brian Plummer, DE Brett Kulka, and LB Nick Underwood.

Agreed. Redshirt and transfer out of the mess that is Maryland Football. Maybe he'll have a shot at sticking with RB.

To be factual Durkin is on administrative leave(he is all but fired), but Maryland probably is going over his contract with fine tooth comb after the death of the lineman near the end of spring practice season looking for the cheapest way to jettison Durkin.

With Maryland's president saying the university is at fault a 7 figure to low 8 figure settlement will be given to the family of the player or at least distributed to the family's lawyers and will divided up how the family see's fit.

This. No doubt that if he stays they will just have him in the weight room and chow hall so he can bulk up into human battering ram form.

Where does it say Jake Funk is moved to fullback? He’s still listed as RB on the roster and is only 202lbs

Just looked it up and apparently it’s their new “f-back” position this year which is supposed to be a hybrid like Sam Rogers or Jaylen Samuels, hopefully he can heal up and hopefully they actually use him as a hybrid because he’s no where near the size or the skillset of an actual fullback. Through 2 games the starting “f-back” has 133 yards and 3 touchdowns so it doesn’t look like Funk will be used as a tradition fullback when he sees the field.

The University caught hell yesterday when they reinstated HC Durkin. And after the near universal backlash they let him go just a day later. Right or wrong the buck stops with the HC when dealing with delicate matters like a player's death. Bad stumble by Maryland. Should have tossed him much sooner.

I am shedding no tears though. Durkin was a paint by the numbers caste coach see above. Whoever decided to reinstate him should be let go too. Like the Gophers program a few years back expect Maryland to flounder in mediocrity for a while or even longer.

I bring up Minnesota because if you recall they had a "racial" thing going several years ago and suddenly they turned very caste and prognosticators predicted they will become a force in the Big Ten. I predicted a downturn here at that time. Like so many other mediocrities ( see Colorado State etc.) teams that used to be somewhat diverse that go whole hog into caste mode generally stumble and bumble and fade out of view.
