Since 2007 Alabama has started 4, 3, 8, 4, 5, 5, 5, 4, 5, and 6 whites, this year we may see a drop to only 4 whites. Nick Saban led the Tide to 13-1 record in 2017, in route to winning the championship.

At QB Bama will swap black quarterback Jalen Hurts for poly Tua Tagovailoa, with promising white SO QB Mac Jones returning to 3rd string ( why hasnt he transferred yet?). True Fr Slade Bolden is a highly recruited all-purpose back that will likely only play wr for Alabama. Hopefully Bolden has a solid camp and takes the slot receiver job.

Bama returns with one of the best Offensive lines in college. They lose their snow-plow from last year, but still have 3 white starters with plenty of depth. LT Jonah Williams is a 1st round talent, and G Ross Pierschbacher is likely a day 2 guy. At TE Alabama will run 2 TE sets, with SR Hale Hentges returning as a starter. They got plenty of TE depth, like former 4 star SO Miller Forristall who will steal reps from black Irv Smith.

On Defense the tide suffered a major blow this off-season as MLB Keith Holcombe has decided to focus solely on Baseball. Holcombe was projected to be a full-time starter this year. Elsewhere (JR) S Keaton Anderson will be a primary a
Back-up this season, and will see his fair share of snaps. Anderson is likely the only white who will see PT on defense.
Offense
TE- Hale Hentges (Sr) 6'5 254
LT- Jonah Williams (Jr) 6'5 301
LG- Ross Pierschbacher (Jr) 6'4 309
RT- Richie Petibon (Jr) 6'4 316

Defense
None

Ones to watch in 2018 QB Mac Jones, OT Elliot Baker, OT Matt Womack TE Miller Forristall, TE Major Tenison, WR Slade Bolden, S Keaton Anderson.

Thanks Deceptive.

The SEC is a running dirge played in the key of minor. Just a dreadful situation year in and year out. The caste experiment that shows little signs of relief.

As for perennial front runner Alabama any sign of caste breakage is a welcome sight but lo and behold LB Holcombe, who played well last season, has given up. MLB Baseball prospect? Hell I doubt it. A bad surprise.

Interesting that you note a safety. The DB situation in football has taken a drastic turn for the worse and I don't recall seeing one white SEC DB play at all last season so if Anderson manages to see the field that would be a small victory in itself.

Skill player Slade Bolden is an important recruit. Let's see what happens with him? If he gets playing time that is a good sign.

But overall this is what a full bore caste team looks like. The white OL are there to block for the black skill players and help them get all the accolades.

Thanks for the insight shadow light. Keaton Anderson is indeed listed on the 2-deep on ourlads. Yes its a shame Alabama dont atleast have a white QB, its tough to support my home team.

Ive noticed that Alabama has now been playing Polys over whites too, with 3 polys seeing significant PT. DL Tevita Musicka, and LB's Ale Kaho, Cameron Latu are apparently better than all of Alabama's in-state white players. While S Keaton Anderson remains the only white to see a lick on defense.

Saban Angry with Number of Empty Seats

"When I first came here, they used to play that Tradition thing (video) up there and everybody was cheering and excited and happy and there was great spirit," Saban said. "Now, they don't even cheer. They introduce our players and nobody even cheers. So, I don't know. Maybe there's something else somebody should talk about and maybe I shouldn't talk about it and maybe I already talked about more than I should. So, you can beat me up for that if you want."

I heard this on the radio. Could it be the result of BDF--Black Dominance Fatigue?

This used to be a subject of debate a while back when the UCONN women's basketball team for a few years was heavily black and winning big yet they had trouble filling the seats.

I am sure many of us often wonder what is the breaking point where the rubber meets the road where all black teams win with ease year after year? Do white fans in general wonder why there are barely if any white players on the field?

The SEC is blacker than the NFL and there is barely enough of a white presence in the NFL to keep things from going down the rabbit hole entirely. But the NFL continues to thrive and I think the miniscule but important presence of key white players helps in terms of overall fan interest.

There are no indications that sports will overhaul to the point where we would suddenly see a lot more white players, especially in the glamour positions but you would think league officials and advertisers would be leery of a league that had precious few if any white players.

Just from a common sense point of view it makes sense to have more white players.
