2017 Oregon Ducks

Since 2007, Oregon has started 6, 9, 10, 10, 9, 9, 5, 8, 8 and 6 white starters. In 2017 they are projected to start 7.

QB Justin Herbert should be primed for a big year but with a new coach in town he may have a short leash. Taggart has already moved Brendan Schooler - arguably the Ducks best DB (maybe best defensive player) to WR and he is not even listed as a starter. Pretty baffling move and would not surprise me if it is somewhat race based as their is no logic behind the move IMO.

I've seen some projections with Brady Breeze listed as a starter. It will be interesting to see if (or perhaps more accurately, when) he moves into this capacity this season.

The whole Schooler move to offense makes me think that Breeze will not be starting - I still cannot understand why you would take one of your best defensive players, move him to offense and than not make him a surefire starter.

An absolute travesty at that. Schooler started at CB as a true freshman during Oregon's opener at UC Davis last year.

There has to be at least some amount of direction from the top to make the purge of Whites from cornerback as extensive as possible, lest some White succeed at CB on a high-profile Division I team and people start talking about the draft.
