1. Jack Cichy. He's the best pure tackler in all of college football. A guy that's a true leader for the badgers that doesn't get near the credit he deserves. Cichy suffered a season ending injury vs Iowa, which made people forget about him and his true ball hawking ability.
2. Matt VandeBerg- Iowa WR. Vandeberg didn't play in 2017 due to injury and was granted an extra year of eligibility due to a medical redshirt. Iowa obviously struggled moving the ball down field with his absence.
3. Austin Proehl- North Carolina WR. Proehl is the son of former 2x super bowl winning, 17 year NFL veteran WR Ricky Proehl. Austin is leading UNC receiving corps after one of our all time favorites, Ryan Switzer, who is now a Dallas Cowboy.
Austin is a true player than can literally run "every route in the tree. " UNC will be a dark horse in CFB even though losing several key starters.
4. Andrew Wingard- Wyoming Safety. Wingard is gonna be one of the lone veteran starters on that Wyoming team. Even though having an obvious 1st round qb on his team , Wingard is for sure one of the true leaders. In the heavy talented teams he's faced, he proved his self against them. Showing up big against Nebraska last season even though they couldn't pull out the win. He's a true all American caliber player.
5. Brenden Schooler- Oregon Safety. Schooler really came outta nowhere for the horribly bad ducks last season. He's was on one of the worst defenses in all of football. With him being just a freshman last season, he looked more matured than any of the other players on that poor defense. If he made and just about led that secondary as a freshman, just imagine what's ahead for him. He's very fearless and was arguably the best tackler on that defense... as a freshman!!! We have a future first team all American if he gets noticed.
