Apparently during a Bull’s practice, Bobby Portis broke Nikola Mirotic’s jaw during a fight. Mirotic is seriously injured, requiring surgery.

Then, I turn on TNT’s coverage of Celtics v. Cavs, and the entire arena and all the players are in hushed silence, prayers and tears - apparently Gordon Hayward suffered a gruesome/horrific leg injury while fouled on an alley-oop. Damn, I changed the channel immediately. How disturbing.

Damn, was going to make an effort to follow him. Hope he makes a full recovery. His season no doubt is over.

Absolutely horrible injury from what I've read, I don't intend to watch the video. I'm a bit squeamish in this regard, twice made a mistake, once by watching the Joe Theismann injury clip and also the Robin Ventura injury.

In fact, from what they are describing, it's a broken foot/dislocated ankle, very similar to what happened to Ventura. He was thought to have been lost for the year, but came back in late July and played for another 8 years. His leg was never the same, however. It sucks for Hayward because he was a rare, legit, athletic, white American NBA star just entering his prime. Medical science has come a long way, I hope he can fully recover and play for many years.

As for the Mirotic broken jaw, had to have been a sucker punch. Shouldn't there be an assault charge? At a minimum they should trade the thug.

There certainly seems a trend if excusable violence against white players which would cause outrage if reciprocated. Goran Dragic is one who comes to mind, can make season highlights for the elbows to the face he receives. Even mixed whites(without black mix) are targeted heavily like Steven Adams.

What a way to start the season. Losing our best player as well as a solid starter in Mirotic. Looks like what little NBA I had planned to watch is now probably halved at minimum.

I may tune in to the ocassional Knicks game as they are local and have a lot of our guys. Porzingis is the focal point and they have guys like Baker, Hernangomez, McDermott and Kuzminskas.

I have been surprised how no one has talked about how LeBron maybe injured him on purpose. After the whistle blows, he walks to the bench without a care in the world. Even Tristan Thompson and the rest of the Cavs players shows concern and look at the situation. LeBron doesn't once. Oh he may have looked in the direction but not at Hayward as the other 4 did.

Pure Holy Hell yesterday. I am over the top angry. I believe in God but he is either in exile or on vacation because the Devil is in control. Mirotic was sucker punched by a piece of you know what. A little shoving fine. A blow to the jaw all wrong. Portis is a grade A prick that deserves the worst sort of punishment. Field day for knocking off white athletes yesterday. What's next actual murder?
There was a lot of mawkish behavior from the players after Hayward went down yesterday and perhaps some of the players were genuine in their grief but I'm not buying the whole story. How convenient that King PRICK James was the one who smacked him while Hayward was leaping high for an alley-oop highlight reel dunk. Tell me has James ever done that to say Kevin Durant during the finals no less or anyone else? Has Stephen Curry, another prick , ever actually been touched by opponents at all since he has been in the league. Do the black players who jump up to dunk for the endless ESPN highlight reel loops ever get assaulted like Hayward did last night? James went on to have a banner day in a Cavs victory while managing to destroy a main player on a team that threatened to end his little Eastern Conference "dynasty."
For years I was neutral on LeBron James but after hearing his anti white BS and pure political horse clap trap the last couple of years I lost any remaining respect and to me last night that was a CHEAP SHOT. The media is underplaying it but not only did he kill off a rival team he massacred the brightest and best young white player in the game. Good job ******* and your fake remorse. If it was a scrub player I could swallow it a little more but he knew damn well who he attacked with the intent to injure.
No question the NBA is at a very low ebb just like last season when it comes to white players and this Hayward injury is just a dirty trick orchestrated by the Devil. I know the next best young white star Porzingis has a very high ceiling but unlike Hayward I question his maturity level. But all in all the NBA continues to look bleaker each passing day. The young " stars" of tomorrow are almost all black ( and they will be praised and hyped and highlighted until you turn blue) so unless some white players emerge out of the gloom I am looking at an NBA season that is full of nothing but bleakness and despair and yet another notch on the belt for the black supremacists and those that support the theory. A horror show.Plain and simple. I know many say turn away. And I will to an extent. But I like basketball and some of my greatest ever sports memories revolved around the Larry Bird years. The joy and the fun. The pure ecstasy when they won championships. I want to taste it again. Sadly for the modern day NBA all I experience now is the whiff of death. Tough day folks tough day.

Portis gets 8 game suspension for sucker punch. Mirotic never threw a punch. A lot of people making excuses for Portis. Bulls VP John Paxson stated that it would be inaccurate to characterize it as a “sucker punch.” I’m waiting for Portis to claim that Mirotic made a racial slur.

Blazers’ SG Pat Connaughton scores 24 points on 9/14 shooting in 32 minutes of action off the bench. However, the only reason the 3rd year player from Notre Dame was on the floor was due to the one game suspension being served by starting SG CJ McCollum. Expect Connaughton to be relegated back to the end of the bench with fellow young, White talent, Jake Layman.

Went to bed depressed for second straight night and woke up early to scan the paper and missed Connaughton's stats somehow and went back to sleep depressed. Then I saw his stats on the NBA network see above post. So I waited around to see the highlights on the NBA network and not one highlight or even mention of Pat. Then on the ESPN scroll his name never appeared which was odd since he scored 24 points and normally they would have scrolled it considering they were scrolling up to three players per team. I would love to see Pat C and Layman make some noise this season but the odds are probably against it . I guess one victory is they both made the squad and that was never a sure thing. This duo is important because they are both stellar athletes with great leaping ability.

Tonight is a chance for the members here who like basketball to check out the Knicks on national tv. They haven't been this white friendly since the 60's in my opinion. They also have white guys that can really score. Porzingis is amazing but I'm hoping this will be the year that McDermott gets enough playing time to become a star. He probably won't start but hopefully will soon. I think he will get alot of minutes as will some of the other guys on the team. Should be a fun game to watch. I also think that Coach Hornacek it the perfect fit for alot of these guys. Enjoy it gentlemen.

It really is terrible what happened to Hayward. His injury was one of those grotesque lower leg fractures in the category of what happened to Paul George, Kevin Ware, and Anderson Silva. It will take alot of hard work but he will be back.

I am really looking forward to watching Nikola Jokic continue his development this year. Jokic is on the verge of becoming a second or third team all NBA player. First team may be asking too much, at least this year. He is a special talent, a triple-double machine.

Looks like Gordan Hayward will still play this season, according to Celtics HC Brad Stevens. Stevens stated Hayward's rehab will last around 5 months, with a return coming in March!

Earlier, there were 3 white players in the top 10 in scoring, however Vucevic only scored 15 tonight and dropped to 17th at 23.8 per game. Porzingis is 9th 25.3 per game and Marc Gasol is tied for 10th at 25.0 per game. I don't know when was the last time we had 3 in the top ten! Could have had a solid 3 or 4 had Hayward not been injured.
Currently their are 3 in the top 10 in rebounding; Kanter 6th, 12/game, Gortat, 9th, 11.3/game, and Love, 11.2/game.... and 5 more in the next ten or 8 out of 20. 11. MGasol, 13. Jokic, Vucevic 16th, Markkanen T17th and Sabonis 20th.
