From 2006 - 2012 Hawaii has had 3, 4, 5, 5, 3, 5 and 2 White starters. In 2015, they started 4 Whites.

The 2016 Hawaii Warriors look to start 2 Whites.

Offense:
WR Dylan Collie

Defense:
DT Kory Rasmussen

Hawaii University is located in Honolulu, HI which is 17.9% White and 1.5% black according to the 2010 US Census.

The projected number of White starters on Hawaii's football team is 2/22 which is 9.0%.

This means that White football players are underrepresented by 8.9 percentage points (17.9% - 9.0%) given the geographic location of the University.

Side note: Poly's make up most of this team...more-so than blacks (and obviously, Whites, as well)

In case anyone was wondering, Dylan is the younger brother of CF favorite Austin Collie. Dylan, 21, transferred from BYU after his 2 year mission. Seems he wants to carve out his own path but why he chose Hawaii is beyond me.

Austin has now left football after 1 season in the CFL. He said his heart wasn't in it anymore and now works at a concussion facility. Injuries, but more importantly the caste system, killed what should have been a terrific career.

Ironically the season opener (vs. Cal tonight) will be at home in Australia for Former Rugby Player; true freshman Athlete/D-End Maxwell Hendrie 6'-4" 245 ...interested to see how much early playing time he will get?
