Since 2006 there have been 5, 4, 3, 8, 4, 5, 5, 5 4, and 5 whites at Alabama. Although clearly a team that adheres blindly to the caste system, Alabama is at least one of the few SEC teams that seems willing to occasionally recruit white defensive players, although none will be starting this year. The Crimson Tide will also feature a white WR graduate transfer for the second time in two consecutive years, acquiring Bowling Green wideout Gehrig Dieter, who had over 1000 yards receiving last year. Although not a starter yet, he should hopefully see the field a lot this year.

It is still yet to be seen who will be tossing the ball to Dieter. Alabama features an abundance of white QBs on its roster, but two of them (Cooper Bateman and Blake Barnett) are entangled in a tight competition for the starting job with a recently hyped up black quarterback. At the current moment, I would predict Bateman as the eventual starter, but this is an SEC team we're talking about, so take it with some skepticism.

OL Jonah Williams will start at RT, which is intriguing as he is only a true freshman. TE Hale Hentges will see the field in Alabama's frequently used two TE sets. Anywhere from 3 to 5 starters this year, maybe more if Dieter can secure a starting position.

Offense -
QB - Cooper Bateman (in a battle for position)
TE - Hale Hentges (two TE sets)
C - Bradley Bozeman
RG - Ross Pierschbacher
RT - Jonah Williams

Defense -
None

Back ups include LT Matt Womack, C JC Hassenauer, WR Gehrig Dieter, TE Miller Forristall, DE Dakota Ball, and LB Keith Holcome.

I believe Saban was saying that either Bateman or Barnett were going to start against USC, implying that the freshman black quarterback was lagging behind in the competition, so hopefully Bama will have a white qb regardless.

Pretty sure the black quarterback is at the bottom of the depth chart.
