Here are Iowa's white starters since '05, 11, 13, 15, 15, 13, 12, 11, 12, 16 and 13. Iowa is projected to have 14 white starters this year. Iowa continues to be a perennial team to support.

It sounds like Ferentz is on the hot seat this year so Iowa needs to finish with at least an 8-4 record for him to be safe. If he is fired than Iowa football will probably have a huge demographic switch. The pro style offense, strong defense will probably give way to something alot less desirable and to a coach that is going to gut the roster and neglect the in state talent. Ferentz has also had a good number of white players drafted to the NFL. It's one of the only consistent pipelines.

Drew Ott is the main player to watch - he is flying under the radar due to Bosa and Zettel getting all of the attention in the big 10. He should be a 3rd rounder at the least in the draft next year.

CJ Beathard takes the helm as the starting QB after Rudock transferred to Michigan.

This team has alot of depth. On Offense WR Riley McCarron, WR Andrew Stone, RT Keegan Render, LG Sean Welsh, RG Mitch Keppy, LT Cole Croston are all 2nd up at their respective positions. TE George Kittle and Jake Duzey (suffered an injury in spring practice) should also see alot of playing time. QB Tyler Wiegers is behind Beathard and looks to be another big, strong armed pro style QB. On defense look out for DE Matt Nelson, DE Parker Hesse, DT Kyle Terlouw, Senior LBs Cole Fisher and Travis Perry and Safety Brandon Snyder

Offense
QB C.J. Beathard
FB Macon Plewa
WR Matt VanDeberg (also listed as PR)
TE Henry Krieger Coble
LT Boone Myers
LG Eric Simmons

RT Ike Boettger

DT Nathan Bazata
DE Drew Ott
LB Ben Niemann
LB Josey Jewell
LB Bo Bower

Starters Nathan Bazata (DT) and Drew Ott (DE) as well as 2nd-string OLB Cole Fisher were all 3-star prospects coming out of NEBRASKA. Bo Pelini ignored them completely and went out-of-state to get 3-star prospects in their place, all black of course. Pretty disgusting. So, kudos to Ferentz for getting them.

I agree, Ferentz is a good coach and fair to White players and needs to right-the-ship this year or the fans and establishment media will think it's because they don't have enough "athletes" on the team and we know what that language translates into. He'll be gone and it will become a more difficult place for good White players to play at. Of course when a team is vast majority black and they suck, all blame is placed on the coach for "not being able to relate to the players" or some B.S. like that...they'll still be vast majority black teams in the future, and still probably suck, but will not be deemed having a deficiency of "athletes".

For whatever reason, the last few/several years he's had a problem finding or developing a QB that performs well in his system. His offensive lines give the QB very good protection but, for whatever reason, superior QB play has been mostly absent, and the reason, in my mind, for their mediocrity the last few years.

Even as a Wisconsin fan go Iowa! I think this team has what it takes for a bounce back year for the program and get Ferentz off the hot seat.

I'm happy to support Iowa and really couldn't care whether or not Kirk Ferentz is fired or kept on, but I disagree that he is a "good" coach. He's ridden a strong few years long ago into a decade of job security at a high salary. He's cushy with school administrators and doesn't ruffle any feathers. I'm not sure Iowa goes "flashy" with his hypothetical replacement: despite Meyer, Harbaugh and all the network money, the average Big Ten head coach gets promoted from the MAC.

You could look at the team from the opposite perspective and say that a coach aggregating unsung 3-star whites instead of overhyped 3-star blacks should do better than 6-6 on average.

Rudock transferred because he was benched last year. I predict he will overachieve at Michigan and add another strike against Ferentz' judgment and system.

Fisher ended up beating out Bower for this LB spot. So, that's three, 3-star recruits from the state of Nebraska on Iowa's starting defense...all passed over by Bo Pelini in favor of out-of-state affletes...just wanted to state that again.

Iowa 12-0 - great accomplishment against the caste system!

They did so much better than the 8-4 record I thought they had to have for Ferentz to keep his job. The 12-0 record should be more than enough to secure his job.

Go Iowa! First time in school history they're 12-0. They deserved it!
