Sad state of tennis when the U.S. Open can't get a thread until the 3rd day...
I did not watch last night's prime time match between Serena Williams and Taylor Townsend. I can only imagine the breathtaking affleticism which was on display from the roided shemale and the tub of lard teenager. After her Wimbledon humiliation, Serena looks extra juiced for this tournament. I expect her to exhibit some bizarre behavior if she faces any adversity.

I could've done without Federer's excessive flattery of his box guest Michael Jordan at the conclusion of his first round win. Switzerland isn't even a basketball country so I cringed when Federer said MJ was his non-tennis hero growing up. Surely in skiing, soccer, and hockey loving Switzerland he would've had different sports heroes as a youth?

On a brighter note Next Great Black Hope/Hype Donald Young was defeated in the first round.

I just had a good laugh upon learning about the next superstar American tennis players. They are even called the "next Williams sisters" on wikipedia. Gentlemen, I present Tornado Alicia Black and her younger sister Hurricane Tyra Black.

In my experience mulattoes with white mothers and black fathers are far more hateful than full-blooded blacks. Mulattoes with black mothers and white fathers aren't too bad. Just my personal experience from my lying eyes.

Of course it's hard to quantify that last observation since white men with black women is almost as rare as hens teeth.

In windy conditions last night, Eugenie Bouchard looked a bit untidy but managed to take a three setter against Romanian Sorana Cirstea. Btw, Cirstea romped Britain’s black hope, Heather Watson, 6-1,6-1 in the 1st round. Bouchard will have to clean up her game a little to go deep into the tournament, especially if the wind is a factor.

Got a look at fifteen year old CiCi Bellis, too. Her frame is small and you wonder how she will ever have a lasting impact on the tour with all the big hitting that has taken over the game. She lost a three setter against a determined Zarina Diyas of Kazakhstan. It turns out Bellis has good pop on her strokes for her tiny frame. If she can grow a little and keep getting big match experience she may well have a future on tour. Also, USA’s drive for diversity took a hit when Madison Keys was dismissed yesterday.

Sara Errani of Italy beat a somewhat resurgent Venus Williams in a third set tie-break. It was interesting to see the tiny Italian cup her ears and hush (see picture at link) the pro-Williams crowd on Arthur Ashe. She definitely wasn't intimidated by them.

I don’t recall a US Open, or any tournament for that matter, where the top women’s seeds were so decimated. The number 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9 seeds - all have hit the road. It’s still a very watchable lead up to the final. Caroline Wozniacki, who seems to have pulled herself together, Victoria Azaranka and rising stars Eugenie Bouchard and Belinda Bencic are in the running. Now if the freak can take a tumble, all the better.

Aye Yai Yai. Number 7 seed Eugenie Bouchard is out. It's not real real shocking that Bouchard lost to Makarova. The fact that seeds 2 through 9 are all gone is wacky.

Really lame handshake at the end from Bouchard. She didn't even look at Makarova. Bouchard doesn't seem very sporting.

Tsonga out in straight sets after all the hype over his winning the Masters tournament in Toronto. Monfils is still in the mix. He usually loses at this stage. If he gets passed Dimitrov he'd likely play Federer in the next round.

Monfils has been playing the best tennis of his career but tonight he's up against Roger Federer. ESPN keep calling Monfils "the showman". Tonight they said possibly the greatest showman in tennis history. John McEnroe has just gone beyond that and claimed Monfils is the speediest tennis player EVER!

Meanwhile some media are excited about the rise of Asians in tennis. Japanese Kei Nishikori is supposedly the first Asian-born player to make a major semi-final since 1918. Chinese Peng Shuai is in the women's semi-final.

So half the women in the SF are non-white and it is possible, though unlikely, that half the men will be non-white.

Chris Fowler and the McEnroe brothers must be on suicide watch. Great comeback win by Federer. We could be in line for another epic Djokovic-Federer final.

I can only imagine the epic media frenzy and thrill they would have had. Truly glad Fed won. I didn't remember Monfils was black until I got home this morning and watched highlights on the computer, knowing Fed had come from two sets down and had overcome two match points against him, thinking, "Wow, this is rich...".

Yes. Black American athletes openly support other Blacks in various sports. I'm sure Kevin Garnett wouldn't watch a tennis match between two whites, or a golf tournament without tiger woods. Imagine if the drunk white fans felt the same way - the NBA and NFL would cease to exist. Also, I noticed that Michael Chang is in Kei Nishikori's box. Asian supporting Asian, even though they are from different countries. Only whites are not allowed to support unabashedly support their race.

Terrible performance by Djokovic in the semi-final against Kei Nishikori. I don't think I've seen Djokovic play as poorly at a major since maybe 2010. So now we will have to listen to the media gushing about the first Asian-born major finalist.
