Steve Spurrier's Game****s have proven to be one of the most caste-ridden teams in the nation. South Carolina has startd only 6, 6, 6, 5, 4, 3, 3, and 3 white since 2005. Currently, there are no white defenders on scholarship and walk ons Kyle Morini (LB) and Garrett Shank (S) are the lone white defenders, playing only on special teams. South Carolina possesses nearly all their white players at QB and offensive line, where they make up significant depth. WR Kane Whitehurst, who proved effective in extremely limited time last year (scoring a TD on his lone play in the season opener) returns as the team's second fastest player. Meanwhile, experienced back up QB Dylan Thompson looks to take over where Connor Shaw left off. Expect 4 white starters this year.

Offense -
QB - Dylan Thompson
FB - Connor McLaurin
RG - Mike Matulis
C - Cody Waldrop

Back ups on the two deep include QB Connor Mitch, WR Kane Whitehurst, RG Will Sport, C Clayton Stadnik, LG Brandon Stadnik, and LT Mason Zandi.

Vanilla_Sky - you are doing an awesome job on these write-ups. Can't thank you enough.

I have been following college football pretty closely since about 2006 and I cannot remember anytime a Spurrier led team has had a white defensive player but I cannot ever recall him ever having a black quarterback either.

Dylan Thompson is an interesting QB to watch - he is a pretty intriguing prospect - bigger with a stronger arm than Shaw and already has some playing experience when playing for an injured Shaw.

Awesome job by the coal black SEC defense...680 yards and 52 points allowed against Texas A&M. Wow, and not a single White defender to blame. But, at least half will be in the NFL.

Sad but true.

I thought the SEC was know for their "tough defenses". College football is becoming insufferable to watch.
