No bagel for Murray. He took the set 6-1. A lot of the French crowd have already left. And to think they put this match rather than Nadal v Ferrer on their main court. This is like last year when the French tennis authorities gave the Tsonga v Ferrer semi-final priority over Nadal v Djokovic and it ended up being a complete rout.

Unbelievable. Monfils has come back. Maybe he is a Super Athlete after all! Or maybe Murray has choked. I don't know. The feed I was watching switched to the Nadal match because they thought Monfils was done so I don't know what happened. Two sets to one to Murray but with Monfils a break up in the fourth. If Monfils makes this stick he'll deserve credit for (finally) showing some heart. My opinion of Murray will go down though.

These announcers are horse****, they say the match is going to be continued tomorrow so I turn off the TV. Then I see that Murray won the final set 6-0, wanted to watch that.

Monfils took the 4th set but Murray then won the 5th 6-0! "A headscratcher," is how Patrick McEnroe just called the match. So Monfils went from barely trying to being unbeatable then when he evened things up collapsed completely in the 5th. Murray seemed to collapse in the 4th. This might be the difference between Murray on the one hand and Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic on the other. RN and ND rarely, if ever, collapse like that in majors especially against lower ranked players.

Genie Bouchard won the first set, but Maria Sharapova prevailed after losing the first set for the third straight match and moves on to the final. It was a very well played match; Bouchard has made it to the semis of both Grand Slam events this year and it will be very surprising if she doesn't become a major star within a year or two at the most.

Before Nadal came on the scene, if someone would have told me that a player is going to come along and win nine French Open titles, I would have recommended psychiatric care the poor delusional sole.

Simona Halep played superb tennis in the final. Sharapova’s new coach is doing something right.

Halep and Sharapova played an excellent match. I haven't had a chance to watch the men's final yet.

The weirdest thing that happened yesterday was not Djokovic throwing up on court but Andy Murray's bizarre decision to hire Amelie Mauresmo to be his coach.:icon_eek: It wasn't April Fools' Day so he must be serious.

Mauresmo won two majors but she also was known to be mentally fragile. She's only been a kind of assistant coach to a few players, mostly women, so it's hard to see what she brings to the table other than hordes of delirious "LGBT" fans and lots of favourable coverage from our feminist/homosexual obsessed media. I'm sure Mary Carillo and Martina Navratilova will think this is some great breakthrough to have men's grand slam champion coached by a woman (other than a mother).:icon_rolleyes:
