Here are the white starters this year for Virginia Tech and Frank Beamer. The overrated Logan Thomas continues to start in his final year at Va. Tech. Despite the media hyping him to no end, even they have been disappointed by Thomas’ lack of development last season. Not to worry, when Thomas is gone, one can be sure Beamer will have another black QB to insert into the starting lineup. Since 2005, the Hokies have started 5, 5, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, and 7 whites. Believe it or not, Beamer has increased his white starters since CF started tracking them. They look to keep their 7 white starters for a fourth year in a row. Backup Hokies to watch include FB Fuller Hoepner, C Matt Arkema, RG Jake Goins, RT Augie Conte, and LB Chase Williams, Jack Tyler’s backup. By virtue of most of the rest of the ACC getting much blacker, Beamer’s team becomes one of the whiter teams by default.

Offense
FB- Riley Biero
TE- Ryan Malleck
LT- Mark Shuman – in a fight for the position
LG- Brent Benedict
C- Caleb Farris
RG- Andrew Miller

Defense
LB- Jack Tyler

Jack,
thanks for the overview on VT.
Tech had a meaningless win against West Carolina yesterday, but @ least they're in the win column now.

In general, I'm a Beamer fan (seems hard-working, fair minded).. except since Vick, it looks like Beamer has gone all-in on mo'bull quarterbLacks. Which I think is holding VT back from being a top 5-10 program.
Vick had a great college career, but since then VT's QBs have been a step below the other powerhouse programs.. even when a lot of their other components were equal to the top 5-10 programs.

It was (yt QB) Druckenmiller who got Tech turned around in the mid 90s, but post-Vick, Beamer has been committed to the Tyrod Taylor-Logan Thomas type game which I think will unfortunately keep Va Tech as a perennial #15-20 type program ?

Back to back losses for VT..

Logan Thomas, who I don't think is a bad college QB, has made a lot of errors in both losses.
Thomas threw 4 picks against Duke, and tossed a pick6 in their loss to Boston College.

Thomas is strong, but inaccurate & mistake prone. He's had a decent career with Tech.. but is getting the overhyped mo'bull QB love from DWFs & Never Fully Lucid scouts. 55% completion rate on the season, more INTs than TDs, these would be red flags for scouts looking for NFL composure, but..
Playin on the web, I saw McShay believes Thomas will go second, maybe first round :behindsofa:

McGay must be on hallucinogens because Thomas is nothing more than a Josh Freeman clone. His best shot will be if he can make the transition to TE in the NFL.

i have Thomas ranked 15th on my list of Qbs and most list I've seen he is around 12 or 13. He is not a good Quarterback, other size than size he doesn't have anything. He's accuracy, decision making, ball speed, and football IQ are all below average. He loses games to lesser teams, His TD to interception ratio has been bad every year, that is always a big warning sign for Quarterbacks. Personally I can't see anyone drafting him.

the penetrating, hallucinating(?) gaze of an NFL (Never Fully Lucid) analyst.. They see successful mo'bull black quarterbacks everywhere..
