2013 Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles

Here are your projected white starters for the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles this season. They started 4 whites in 2006 and 2007, 6 in 2008 and 2009, 1-2 in 2010, and 5 in 2011 and 2012. This year, the Golden Eagles will climb to never before seen numbers of white players, with potentially 8 of them starting for Southern Miss this year! What on earth is Todd Monken doing down there to get so many white starters? It’s a very welcome change, and I can actually cheer for these guys in some games this year! They started with a black coach and black QB last year. The result? An 0-12 disaster year that failed to see Southern Miss win a game. I sincerely hope they’ll be a lot better this year, with 3 more whites starting this year. Some white backups to look for are: LT Aaron Reed(?), RG Michael Brinson, and DEs Will Freeman and Nic Bekkers. I guess this 8 white starters deal is the exception to the rule. Don’t look for this to last.
