I just wanted to update the white rb situation for the class of 2013....

1: Super quick Parker Davis is going to Air Force

2: Brandon Monroe has an offer from Fresno State

3: Super athletic David Gaydosz has an unposted offer from Ohio as he is waiting for bigger schools to jump in.

4: The shiftiest rb black or white Caleb Hopkins is going to wind up at Vanderbilt.

5: Cole Mazza had an offer from UCLA but was mysteriously rescinded and now has a serious offer from Western Kentucky.

6: Ryan Switzer committed to North Carolina.

7: Anthony Lauro has offers from Western Kentucky, UMASS, Akron and Purdue wanted to offer but as a wr which he refused.

8: Brendan Douglas has an offer from Georgia Tech.

9: Speedy Justin Webster committed to Iowa State recently.

10: Alex Biedenharn who might be a top 20 rb in a caste free world and who just one mvp of a Louisiana 5 star football camp still has no offers but common sense sais he will sign with UL- Monroe. If he was black USC and Alabama would be all over this kid. I am not being biased. He is an incredible talent.

11: Dakota Diessner is almost as talented as Biedenharn but no offers yet.

12: Cole McKeel who is faster and more of a slasher than I once thought will sign with Rice.

I will update this post later as there are 4 or 5 more guys slipping my mind at the moment.

13: Risley Lesko a smallish rb with tremendous vision, cutting ability and breakaway speed has no schools listed but he could lpay D1 almost anywhere.

14: Grant Rushing out of Illinois is very quick and fluid and is close to an offer from Northern Illinois.

15: The one guy I am not impressed with is Drake Martinez. He is fast and shifty but skinny and to tall. He runs very upright like Hunter Furr did in high school. He has offers from Nebraska and San Diego State but he is more likely to move to wr or safety. I do'nt think he would make a very good qb.

16: Though Billy East should be a top 40 back his only 2 true d 1 offers are from Army and Navy. This kid should be playing for Washington or Oregon State. Maybe it will get better.

17: Also Josh Danforth from Georgia originally had an offer from UCLA now has a decent offer from Georgia Southern.

18: I just found this kid today but Gabe Guild out of Shawnee Mission, Kansas is a solid sized rb with terrific speed and agility. This kid will play D 1 somewhere but probably a smaller WAC school. Im not sure K. State or Kansas would be interested in him though he looks just as good as any black rbs I watch.

19: Joey Rhattigan ( a Luke Staley clone without the top end speed ) appears to be ready to commit to Western Michigan.

Leo Musso from Waunakee,Wi tore it up all year and was close to signing with Minnesota but at the last minute Wisconsin offered. He'll probably be moved to Free Safety

Though I think Montee Ball is a great rb I have argued here before that Wisconsin has had the most dominating offensive line the last 2 or 3 years now. I would love to see Musso stay at rb but I think you are right. He will be moved to safety after a few years. Wisconsin still has John Zuhleger a junior rb/db with his 10.6 100 meter speed but he only got 2 or 3 carries in garbage time a few years ago. Musso is very talented but Ball and White are very good as well. If Musso was black he might have a chance to get to play as a 2nd stringer in a few years but its not going to happen.

I like Drake Martinez as a rb prospect. His build is similar to Jamaal Charles out of high school, who is 6'1 and still under the 200 mark. Drake's height is listed at 6'2 in some places but its probably closer to 6'1 which is listed on a few places as well. The only thing different is he looks a little thicker than Charles and more potential to be better on the inside. He runs upright at times but usually leans forward in traffic, similar to Charles. His top end speed isn't as fast but Charles is probably the fastest back in the NFL. Drake looks to have elite top end speed. He will most likely be going to Nebraska. I wouldn't rule out qb depending on what kind of offense they want to run, it doesn't take much to run the option. Most Whites have some passing ability, even if its marginal, its better than most affletes. Burkhead could switch to option qb right now if needed, and has been put as a wildcat qb quite a bit. I don't know what quarterbacks they have coming in but being at wide receiver would be a waste if they don't throw a bunch, I know they got rid of the oc that wanted more of a wco attack. I've even heard that Bo would consider him at cornerback.

Ball is so overrated it isn't even funny. It doesn't matter who they put back there, they will produce. Just a few years ago the fat John Clay was hyped up and ran a 4.8, didn't stop him from putting up 1500+ rushing yards in a season. Ball has a little better speed, probably in the 4.6 range, has a decent skillset but I would love to see someone like Rex Burkhead behind that line.

Dakota Diessner

Dakota Diessner is one of the most underated RB/Players in HS football. I seen him at several combines throughout OK and TX. He is a legit 4.5 kid with a shuttle of 4.1 his vertical is a crazy 38". At all the combines I seen him at he was named combine king. Not sure why he is not getting the offers some of the kids he competed against and had better scores and one on ones are?? Hopefully he will cause his speed and quickness is rare.

Here is his Rivals page, at least he has one. We all know why he isn't given the recruiting attention that affletes get.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but as I've said in the past Rivals pages are easy to set up. If anyone here has someone who needs to get one, PM me and I'll tell you how to. Also, many of the numbers you see are fabricated.

In the case of Mr. Diessner, his numbers are pretty legit. He's 5'9.5, 177lbs. Ran a 4.58, 40, a 4.38 short shuttle, indeed had a 38' vertical, and BP 185, 11 reps at the NUC Combine. Pretty good numbers!

Also, keep in mind, measureables can vary from combine to combine.

Backwoods,

Don't believe everything you here about offers. Who are the kids getting offers before Mr. Diessner? Don't get me wrong there are Juniors getting offers, but many of them had great Sophomore or Junior years, (Ryan Switzer, UNC for example). I didn't see anything on Mr. Diessners sophomore year, but he had a decent junior year. If he or who ever is helping him in the recruiting process is diligent, and he has a good senior year, he should start getting offers soon. Good Luck!

Arizona rb Jarek Hilgers appears to be heading to San Diego State as either a rb or safety. Hes pretty impressive on video but this kid also has a 41 inch vertical. Thank god hes the only one of us that can jump.

Chandler Hamilton coach Steve Belles believes Jarek Hilgers is the “heart and soulâ€￾ of Phoenix Desert Vista’s football team.

After Hilgers ran for 269 yards and four touchdowns in last week’s 56-35 win over Scottsdale Saguaro, Saguaro coach Jason Mohns said he is surprised Hilgers doesn’t have four or five big college football offers by now.

Desert Vista coach Dan Hinds is quite happy to have Hilgers running the football for him.

Friday, he’ll need the 6-foot-1, 205-pound senior running back and the linemen at their best to try to do what most thought was the improbable last year in the title game — beat Chandler Hamilton..."

Fast and shifty running back, Anthony Lauro from Florida has signed on with Akron. He will be gray shirted as he has suffered significant injuries all 3 years of varsity football including this one. One more D1 rb to root for and hopefully he will rotate in with Connor Hundley in a few years.

Another pretty talented rb getting some attention is JJ Husar out of Arizona. He is listed at 6'0" and 185 pounds and has 4.5 speed and has an offer from Montana. He runs a little upright but he is quick to the whole and has some nice vision and cutting ability.

I just read this in the SF newspaper article about unheralded prep footballers:

RB/S Joe Protheroe (Clayton Valley-Concord, 6-1, 205, senior): Despite leading the East Bay in rushing with 2,091 yards and 23 touchdowns, Protheroe has only one offer, from Sacramento State. Speed seems to be an issue, but against two of the East Bay's fastest teams, Pittsburg and Hayward, he gained 193 and 262 yards. Expect his offers to grow if he has a big game Friday against one of the Bay Area's top defenses, Rancho Cotate-Rohnert Park.

From the first sentence about having only one offer, I assumed that he must be white.
A quick google check shows that to be correct..... and I'm not surprised!

Diessner

Diessner offered by Air Force.

Diessner has signed with Air Force and will play some slot reicever and runing back. The reason he did not produce much his sophmore year is because we had two returning seniors at halfback that he eventually beat out and we passed the ball substantualy more than we ran it. but he had good numbers the past two years and is under rated

Thanks for the update on Diessner. Listed above is a cat quick rb with power named Parker Davis out of Kansas. He will also be attending Air Force. I believe they added a rb last year named Andrew Long who a few sites said he ran a 4.3 forty. Its nice to see Air Force giving under recruited kids a shot though realistically any of these 3 could play for most schools in the country.

Look out for the next coming of Rob Konrad. Army is recruiting a white rb in Derrick Craine out of Georgia. He is 5'11" and 225 pounds and he is a LOAD. He is also very quick with great agility. I don't know what 40 time he runs but he can bowl you over or make you miss. He even wears # 44 which goes in line with the great rbs of Syracuse. Army may move him to fullback but this kid is damn good. Whats even more refreshing is he has a black fullback blocking for him on some plays. The coach must be aware of this site.

A kid out of Indiana I have known for a long time , Riley Aravinitis is a 6'1" 235 pound bruiser with pretty good speed has an offer from Iowa State. I.S. traditionally does not use a fullback so if he signs with them I wonder if he will fall into the Jeff Woody mode.

We have spoken about Wyatt Shallman out of Detroit Catholic going to Michigan but I assumed at 6'3" and 255 pounds he would be a fullback but apparently he is going to try out as a tailback first. His 4.7 forty is impressive fot that size and Ill eat my shirt if Monte Ball breaks 4.65 at the combine but he runs an unbelievable 4.1 shuttle. I have never heard anyone near that size running that quick. This guy may be a star for years to come.
