First Note on the postseason..

Kevin Durant finally realized, that when you are down by one point with several seconds remaining... "you don't have to shoot the 3!" That kind of streetball, pissing-contest mentality that he has displayed on multiple occasions has gone overlooked by the MSM, but not me.

So, last night, he took a higher-percentage shot and it bounced it's way through the hoop.. OKC won 99-98. That was a BASKETBALL game and nice ending. I can give Durant credit this time. Play the percentages, people, and good things may happen!
 
That was a good game. Durant took alot of bad shots but he never gave up. He is one of the few black stars that doesn't constantly rub me the wrong way. He is a competetor but still has some class. Similar to Tim Duncan. I wish the Mavs could have pulled it out but it was a very exciting game.

The Magic did win though and they are one of the best teams from our perspective to root for. I will still root for the Mavs because of Dirk and the Jazz because of Gordon. He is slowly becoming a star and he has alot of upside to go still at only 22 years of age. I used to like Indiana but they have gotten rid of most of their stars. I hope Tyler Hansborough can get out of there soon.
 
Atlanta, with a few Whites (Hinrich & Pachulia), defeated Boston in Game 1. This series, between evenly-matched teams, will probably go at least 6 games. I'm not counting Boston out, but just listing the results of Game 1.

San Antonio won Game 1 against Utah. With Manu and the Red Rocket (Bonner), I'm pulling hard for the Spurs' in this series. The Spurs' and Lakers' are the Western Conference teams that I support. PAU had 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists -- as the Lakers' defeated Denver in Game 1.

San Antonio absolutely dominated Game 2, and are up 2-0 in this series.

Hopefully, they won't let up in Utah, and I don't think they will. --Tonight, a big Game 3 between OKC/Dallas in Dallas. It should be an exciting game.--
 
It's all but over for the Knicks. They now possess a 13 game playoff-losing-streak! Last night, Carmelo was 7-23 from the field.

Dallas was atrocious, offensively and defensively, in a must-win game. It's over for them as well.
 
Spencer Hawes had 21 points and 9 rebounds -- as Philly defeated Chicago in Game 3. He's a player that has had some unfortunate injuries in his career, and I'm happy to see this playoff performance from him.
 
Looks like the refs "rescued" Philly a few times near the end of Game 4, but another big game for Spencer Hawes!! 22 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks!
 
Atlanta got Josh Smith back (from injury) last night, but they died by the 3... (4-20 from long range).


The Lakers' got a big win at Denver, and lead the series 3-1 now. Denver's an up-tempo team that has given the Lakers' (and Bynum) some fits in this series.

Using his superior quickness, JaVale McGee destroyed Bynum last night. Although he's black, McGee gets a bad-rap from the MSM. However, you know Denver is happy that they traded away (weakling/hyped) Nene for McGee.
 
A pivotal LAL at Denver game is on tonight. Will Kobe's Lakers' close the series? Or, will Denver force a Game 7? :pop2:
 
Gasol had a good game last night but his afflete teammates almost blew the lead in the 2nd half b/c they were not giving him touches on the offensive end! I have the Lakers closing this game out today, why hasn't McRoberts been getting minutes of the bench?!
 
Yes, Marc Gasol had 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. To freeze this phenomenal talent out of the offense -- something which has been going on -- is a crime!
 
Philly Philly Philly!! An 8th seed eliminated a #1 seed, largely because Spencer Hawes really grew-up in this series! :D Great work, Spencer!!


Denver trucked LA to force Game 7. I don't know why more teams aren't up-tempo.. and, if I might add, George Karl is doing a fine job of coaching his group. Here goes, a Game 7 for all the marbles. This game should get very good ratings.
 
23 points and 9 rebounds for Marc Gasol! Another Game 7 is in the cards. :thumbup:
 
Incredible Game 7 thus far! Nice intensity and solid reffing, letting them play with some physicality.
 
Trust me, this game will be on ESPN CLASSIC one day! Steve Blake and Pau are being clutch.
 
Tyler Hansbrough was doing pretty well out there against the Heat and Indy's coach didn't even play him in the 4th quarter?

I always noticed that when a white player is doing well, his teammates stop throwing him the ball or the coach just sits him down.

Great game by Ginobli. This team has always played basketball the right way. Just like alof of teams you see from around the world, the Spurs understand team basketball and no player on the team has an ego too big to not pass to the open man. They also have a great coach. It would make a great story if the Spurs get a chance to go for their 5th nba championship. That is still a long ways away but I wouldn't count them out.
 
You have to love the fact that the Indiana Pacers are up 2 games to 1 on the Miami Heat. Lebron James(the so called King), was very average as usual and Wade didn't do anything. This so called dream team knows nothing about how the game of basketball should be played. San Antonio and Indiana could teach them alot but these so called superstars on the Heat wouldn't even take the time to listen. They are after all unbeatable and a lock to win the title just like last year. We saw how that worked out as Nowitzki took them apart piece by piece. Nothing would make me happier than to see the Pacers pull of the upset. I hope they don't even make the eastern finals. Screw Queen James!
 
How can anyone root for any of these teams? Yes, San Antonio is probably the best of a sorry lot, but even they persist in the curious nonsense of not officially starting Ginobli.

As for Indiana, what they are doing to Tyler Hansborough is a real hate crime. Best player on the team, hands down, which he showed conclusively last season when he got a real chance to play, and now he's just an afterthought. What happened to all of Indiana's white players? I guess that's why Larry Bird is now "executive of the year."

The NBA is totally unwatchable. The caliber of play just keeps getting worse every year. Routinely now, teams score 70-80 points in a game. I coached 10 year old boys that could score 70 points, in games that were much shorter. The idea that Adam Morrison, Joe Alexander, Jon Scheyer, Kyle Singler, etc. are unemployed now, while this corrupt league gives millions of dollars to AA clowns that are lacking in every possible basketball skill, should make us all sick.

While there may be some hope for the NFL to get at least marginally more fair, there is no hope for the NBA. The only thing to do is boycott it.

I couldn't agree more. The Miami Heat are certainly the most odious team in the league with their 3 drama queens and the Clippers closely following with their entirely chocolate roster. Now this may surprise some but I put the Pacers up with those teams on my hate list. As bigunreal said, Tyler Hansbrough's treatment has been despicable. Staring at North Carolina and being one of the best players in ACC history means nothing I guess. While Tyler was putting up 20 & 10 against top competition his current teammates and "star" players Paul George and George Hill were competing at Fresno St and IUPUI respectively. IUPUI for those not in the know is Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. Now these guys have been playing well but why have they been given playing time and opportunities to succeed while Tyler hasn't? Must be that magical upside.

Tyler on the other hand played very well last year and looked like he was poised to put up numbers from his UNC days this season. Instead "Larry Legend" and the boys sign the pedestrian David West who averaged 12.8 points and 6.6 rebounds this year while making 10 million. Really a great investment when you've got a guy on the bench who could easily exceed that production, is younger and is making a fraction of the money.

Screw the Heat, I hope the Pacers win but then screw them for their treatment of one of my favorite players.
