I am so sick of all these African imports populating European leagues.
The same goes for Oscar, Neymar and the other Brazilians.
these are not the best examples of south americans populating european leagues because there is one big difference:
the africans were brought to europe to replace the local players
they came as very young kids, like we don't have young kids in europe
and they took our places in the youth categories of our local clubs
oscar and neymar developped in brazil and will come in europe as big stars
there are however example of young players from south america doing the same as these africans, but they are much more talented than the africans
in italy especially (that's one of the reasons why currently they don't have a decent young striker that can put the over-rated balotelli on the bench)
i remember uruguayan coaches and officials complaining that an entire uruguayan youth squad went to italy to play a youth tournament and never came back
this issue is very well known in uruguay
if you look at the youth categories of some italian clubs you will see africans and brazilians-uruguayans-argentines that never played in south america professionally
when they do this their home club loses money because i don't even think that they get a little money (usually when a player is transfered you have to pay a little bit of money to the club that trained him - for example grenoble received money from arsenal when giroud was transferred from montpellier to arsenal - but since they leave so young i don't even think that they get any money)
the same problem is very well known in africa also, not for the same reasons, but because a lot of these young kids that are brought in europe are brought illegally (see samuel etoo for example) and if they are refused by the european club they end up homeless, they become male prostitutes ect
this is a taboo topic in sports but it happens every day
in both cases (south americans and africans) the ones to blame are the representatives that make the parents of the young kid sign a piece of paper, send the kid in europe then try to make them enter an european club (with a fake birthdate usually to make them appear younger)
also, regarding the south americans, some players who are not good enough to play in their home country go to europe and that's not right because only the best should be allowed to play in europe after proving themselves in their home country (like tiago silva for example) - that's the point of having a 3 non-european players limit (this limit doesn't applies to the africans though because of the cotonou agreements)
some example of these players who managed to become pretty popular (there are countless other players but they are unknown and play for small clubs and/or in minor leagues): david luiz and pepe
then there are the clubs that buy a disproportionately big amount of south american players (usually tier 2 players unlike oscar or neymar) to be more competitive, like the portuguese clubs or some italian clubs like catania, that's another problem
