Ray Lewis tore a triceps muscle yesterday and is done for the season, and possibly for his career, a development that not many here will mourn.

The Ravens also lost a starting CB for the season yesterday (Webb), plus "T-Sizzle" has yet to practice since injuring his achilles tendon playing basketball (at least that's the cover story regarding his injury).

Baltimore's defense was pretty much getting gouged regularly even before yesterday's loss of Lewis and Webb, so they will need to rely primarily on Joe Flacco now to make the playoffs, quite a turnaround from their long run of having a strong defense every year. Dennis Pitta is a very good tight end, as only CFers knew previously, but Anquan Boldin is old and slower than ever and Torrey Smith has excellent deep speed but dubious hands and a low football IQ. The Ravens squeaked by the Cowboys yesterday thanks to Dez Bryant's hands of cement, but it wouldn't be surprising to see them fall back toward the pack from here on out.

And here I thought Bryant McKinnie spent all his free time keeping his 360 pound body in tip-top shape. Man, am I naive!


Former Miami Hurricanes All-American Bryant McKinnie owes the father of rapping superstar Trick Daddy $375,000 for bills run up at South Florida strip clubs, a new lawsuit says. The rapper’s father, Charles “Pop” Young, filed the lawsuit in Miami-Dade Circuit Court Monday afternoon. Young says that McKinnie, who is currently an offensive lineman for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, racked up big bills at the strip clubs between February 2009 and September 2010, borrowing the money from him.

Former BYU tight end Dennis Pitta is blossoming this season with the NFL's Baltimore Ravens. In fact, according to teammate Terrell Suggs, Pitta is practically a mythical creature.

Pitta leaped to snag a 5-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter of Baltimore's blowout win over Oakland on Sunday, leading Suggs to turn to the camera behind the bench and proclaim his love.

"There he is!" Suggs yelled. "He's so beautiful, he's like a unicorn! Or a minotaur!"

Suggs has a history of these kinds of exclamations. During a game last season, Suggs likened the young tight end to a well-known credit card. From the Baltimore Sun:

"The white tight end, baby!" Suggs screamed into the camera. "He's always there when you need him."

He then turned to a few of his teammates and said, "The white tight end. He's American Express. He's everywhere you want to be. Don't leave home without him." Terrence Cody seemed very amused.

Comparisons to consumer spending and bull-headed demi-humans aside, Pitta is having a solid season for the Ravens. He beat out teammate Ed Dickson for the starting position earlier in the year and has now tallied 37 catches for 376 yards and three touchdowns.

Pitta is BYU's all-time leader in pass receptions.

It is true about White tight ends (and receivers in general, I mean most tight ends are used like receivers most of the time now, with some blocking thrown in). Most people realize this as well, dwfs etfc. What I don't get is, why doesn't it click in their head to think "well why don't they throw to that guy more often?" instead of seeing drives stall, balls dropped etc. I mean, we have seen that it keeps working like the other week with Jason Witten, and he no longer runs the same speed he did when he came out, but he can still outrun these "affletes" trying to cover him.

Rolondo McClain retires from football at the ripe old age of 23. Haha. Alabama players really haven't done much lately, considering what they have done in college football. Mark Ingram looks below average. Richardson looks average, despite people proclaiming he is the 2nd coming of Jim Brown. 3.6 ypc is not good considering the passing game got better. Glenn Coffee retired young as well, said he wanted to focus on being a minister, then turned around to play semi pro ball. Supposedly his retirement came right after Tom Rathman was chewing him out, for basically sucking. I guess he couldn't handle it.
