I didn't want to start the 2012 Titans thread with this, but it's almost comical in a pathetic way. A football player who is "allergic to contact" should be an oxymoronic term, but in the case of the NFL it means a second round draft pick.

NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock describes Titans second-round LB Zach Brown as player who is "somewhat allergic to contact." Rotoworld's Josh Norris has nicknamed Brown "pillow hands," and NFL Films' Greg Cosell deemed him an "avoid-contact player." Brown runs like the wind, but he may max out as no better than a nickel 'backer, specializing in coverage. In training camp, Brown will battle Will Witherspoon and Gerald McRath to start.

well there ewas Dieon Sanders but he was a cb...not a linebacker. Maybe they can sign DeSean Jackson as well, that way they can have 3 guys on the roster afraid of contact (Chris Johnson likes to avoid it as well).

Fifth-round TE Taylor Thompson's athleticism stood out at the Titans' rookie minicamp.

Both beat writer Jim Wyatt and second-round LB Zach Brown took notice. "...That big boy can run and he is long," Brown said. A 6-foot-6, 259 pound converted defensive end, Thompson lit up the Combine. He'll likely spend at least one season developing behind Jared Cook before the Titans look to involve him as a pass catcher, however.

Kenny Britt has been arrested for driving under the influence in Nashville.

Britt was reportedly with a female soldier trying to enter Fort Campbell, an Army base just north of the Tennessee/Kentucky border. Their vehicle was stopped at the gate and the police were presumably called. We'll wait for details, but this almost certainly won't end well for Britt. He's already had seven incidents involving police since coming into the league in 2009 and was arrested three times alone last offseason. He only avoided suspension due to the lockout. We've already moved Britt down our draft board due to his knee woes and now the strong possibility of a suspension looms. Rookie Kendall Wright continues to trend up.

Kenny Britt should thank his lucky stars that he's been the beneficiary of a Caste System that first allowed him to become a "student"-athlete and now allows him to make millions of dollars even though he's had eight (!) arrests in the past few years. Instead, Britt wrote this scholarly complaint today, which Weenie World rightly figures will quickly blow over given Britt's membership in a protected class that gets away with almost anything time after time:

Britt posted a picture of his $9,915 fine for missing a rehab assignment on Tuesday. "Yu gotta be (expletive) kidding me.. walk back to dis.. Don’t dey know I have kids," Britt wrote. "I’m tired of did (expletive)." The Titans are surely aware of the incident by now. It seems likely that they'll handle it internally, and hope it just blows over.

If Matt Jones was "troubled," as the media repeatedly insisted, what then is Britt? Also merely "troubled" according to the blurb below. And there's no disparity at all between how Jones was whiteballed out of the league for a single arrest and the way Britt continues to be coddled.

From Weenieworld: Coach Mike Munchak downplayed Kenny Britt's "Instagram" complaint about a team-imposed fine. Munchak said the matter was dealt with privately, and the team has moved on. We've seen speculation that the organization may be getting close to throwing in the towel on the troubled 24-year-old. Coordinator Chris Palmer made it clear Thursday, though, that the team still has big plans for Britt.

That's the same Chris Palmer who put WR Darren Chiaverini in the Browns' "doghouse" for no reason when he was the head coach of Cleveland after Chiaverini's very strong rookie season. Chiaverini like Jones was essentially whiteballed out of the league, but there wasn't even a pretext of an excuse in Darren's case. Chiaverini caught 44 passes as a rookie for the expansion Browns in 1999 (Chiaverini was part of that amazing year by a number of White receivers in '99 which was quickly extinguished the next season), most of them in the second half of the season, then only 18 total the next two years while he was in Palmer's "doghouse," then he was gone from the league for good after being cut by Atlanta in '02.

Darren Chiavirini was the one white wr who I thought did not belong in the NFl. I know my viewing of him in the pros was limited but I saw him struggle to get any kind of separation from a few corners though he was quite impressive at Colorado. As most white athletes they are kept on a short leash though.

Looked like he belonged to me. Was one of the top rookie wide receivers that year, the 44 catches came in 10 games, one game with 10 catches which was toward the end of the season when he was hitting his stride.
