I agree white is right. Water excercises would be highly beneficial to waterbed. It takes alot of the pressure off the joints and tendons while still giving a great workout. Even an eliptical excercise machine might be ok as there is no pounding on the joints.

Any predictions on the 100 semis coming up in a while. I'm going to predict that both of our guys go through to the finals as well as the girl from Germany. I really like what is going on in German Athletics overall. They are bringing up alot of good white talent for any country let alone a smaller country by population. It proves it can be done anywhere. If only America cared about such things.

I think Watrin and the Korean should final. The Korean is probably a dark horse to medal. Vicaut and Lee look like the class of field.

I actually like to watch the womens shot. One of the main reasons is because I throw a 4kg shot in my warm ups before moving to the 6kg, so I get to see how far behind them I am.

Gee, the 100m times were slow today. The Korean must have just given up in heat three. Watrin closed quickly but mustn't let them get away in the final. Hopefully it will be warmer and they'll have 2.5 hours to rest. I know teenagers don't function at their peak in the early hours

It looks like I was right about one thing. Watrin got som Lemaitre in him. He seems to have a lousy start and a strong finish.
Intresting run by the korean. 11,05...

as for your comments on water running W/L...
three years ago I medalled in the PanPac 60m while training ONLY in the pool due to tendon problems.
Amazingly, running in deep water with a vest and also holding onto the pool side while doing fast high single leg turnovers for 30 second intervals was enough to make up for no track work.Edited by: mastermulti

I see the young 15 years and 7 months old New Zealander I posted about some months ago is killing the Shot after two throws... 20.76m

His name is Jacko Gill, he's a white guy and at 80kgs and 15 he was out-throwing the world womens champ from NZ, Valleri Villi.

He is four years younger a lot smaller than most of the field. Try to see him throw if you can.. He's dynamite!Edited by: mastermulti

the poor German in heat two of the 400 left it all on the track but qualified for the final by placing 2nd. Had to get helped off!

The Hungarian is the fastest qualifier

Just turned on the stream and saw some 400 semi-final action. The Hungarian Nagy won the first, but the announcers were so determined that the US guy Nolan should win that they kept talking about how Nolan dominated even after he lost! In the second, semi Germany's Marco Kaiser came on like gangbusters at the end, but looked wrecked after the race, so he probably won't have much for the final.

I just glad my pick for a future star in Watrin made the finals of the 100. He really was slow out of the blocks and he had to make up a ton of ground. The kid has a stride length that is amazing. As I've said before, watch out for this 18 year old. Edited by: white lightning

Nice to see Watrin grab a final spot. As for the Korean do they have cyber cafes or karoake bars in Moncton?

thanks brothers!

WL,i drink soda but not that much much i think, didn't know it was bad .I have been to chiropracter and they did carck my back, but didn't help for my legs.I had after chiropracter some back problems but that wend away with swimming but then i stopped swimming,I think it is a good idea to start with swimming again, forget about it thanks, my legs will get a bit tired from it but it helps against the pain, inflimmation feeling.

They did test my blood circulation,i had to run and then they checked my blood presure in my legs,my legs blood pressure wasn't really low but it did did not rise like my poulse pressure, they didn't know why that was but they said it's probably becuase you have 'young veines'
and your a young guy( didn't take me seriuously)

they did checks some things in my blood like sodium ,calcium but later i checked the internet and some things that can give you tired legs were not cked in my blood.

they also check my beck and neck for hernia whick they said could give you leg pain but its was o.k.

next month I go to docter again after 3 months waiting.
I hoped so bad that they would find something and that it could be solved, but i have it now difficult to stay postive some days are really difficult for me like today, thanks for replys help me ,I hope you guys stay as healthy as possible.

There is even something called tired leg syndrome. Might want to look into it. I don't really know much about it but that is what the internet is for. Keep us posted when you see the doctors again.

Kevin Mayer wins the decathalon. What a final run! It was a sweep by our guys. France, Russia, and Sweden.

Mayer reminds me of a old, old movie called the Worlds Greatest Athlete. The movie was made way back in 1973 but I watched it many years later. The kid reminds me of this and the kid from the Blue Lagoon Movie. Congrats to Kevin Mayer and the other 2 medalists.Edited by: white lightning

Watrin didn't look good at all. He finished in 7th place. Oh well. Hopefully he learned from the experience. No suprise that the Jamaica Dexter Lee won. USA 2nd and France 3rd. Hopefully the 200 will be more enjoyable.

The 400 finals are set for tommorow evening. We are well represented here and hopefully can at least 1or 2 out of the 3 medals.

Jimmy, the good news is that Nagy and Kaiser looked great in their semis. The bad news is that they worked harder than their opposition and will likely be drained for the final. Anyway, Kirani James can't be beaten. He jogged in with a smile on his face, whereas Kaiser practically killed himself. As for Wahtrin in the 100, he's just not that fast. He was losing ground every step of the race. I'd been a bit worried about his bizarre, stiff, overexaggerated running style (looks like he is running form drills even when he's racing), and I just don't see World Class potential there. The best race for us in this meet has always been the men's 800. That's when you'll finally see some fireworks.

The key to the 400 meter final for the White runners and others that want to medal is to run their own races. James is similar to Michael Johnson circa 96-98. When Johnson won in Atlanta Roger Black decided to not try and keep up with him and he won the silver medal. Other runners tried to keep up and faded out of the medals. James is already probably good enough to make a senior final and be a dark horse for a medal.

I just looked at some photos from the competition. Did you know that the 200 m heats were run in a pouring rain?

shot putter Jacko Gill must be extremely mature, but he doesnt look extrem. Rather he look like having good technique.

I hope the weather gets a little better. We are only a little over an hour away from the start of the night session. We will have the semi finals of the mens and womens 200 meters. Also the long awaited 400 meter mens final. We need it tostop raining.

Quotes from the men's 200:

Robin EREWA (GER) - 1st in HEAT 4 - 21.14

I feel nice. It was a good race. The rain didn't really affect my
race. It was disturbing at the start - the false starts made me lose my
concentration a bit, but I kept focused.

For the next race, I will just give it my all.

Aliaksandr LINNIK (BLR) - 1st in HEAT 5 - 21.14

The run was good. It wasn't my fastest, but I will run faster during
the next race. I run in the rain a lot in my country. Now, I want to
make the finals, and win the gold medal. I want to run my fastest and be
the winner.

Julien WATRIN (BEL) 1st in HEAT 6 - 21.18

It went very well. I don't really know what to say after the 1st
round. It's like how I did in the first round in the 100 metres,
finishing first. It's what follows. We'll have to see, but it looks
promising.

I will have to fight to get in the final. It won't be easy at all.

I was a little nervous about slipping. In Belgium, we are used to this (rain). I'm in our kind of conditions right now.

[My result today] assures me a good lane in the semi-final. I'm
already feeling the 100 metres in my legs. Then there's the 4 x 100
metres relay.
