Tulane started 8 whites last year.Wilson Van Hooser is a backup at slot WR so he may see the field some this year. They have gained an additional 3 white staters and look to start 11 this year!

It sounds like Alex Wacha is a player who plays with some emotion! This article is from last year, but I felt it pertains to this year as he is one of the only players to get fired up about for Tulane.

And here's castefootballs thread from 2006 for Alex while he was still in high school. Talk about some great talent scouts

Alex Lauricella from the John Curtis, is a speedster. He holds the school record in the 4x100 meter relay with teammate Joe Mcknight. He narrowed his list to Tulane, UConn, Stanford, La Tech and LSU. But only received real interest from Tulane. Like Les Miles would play a white CB even though he ran a 4.45 forty. I hope he gets a chance at CB and not just a Safety position this year.

In the preview I read, they were pretty rough on Tulane, but from a caste perspective they start two athletic whites in their secondary. I hope Tulanecan string together some victories this year and prove some of the doubters wrong and keep their coaches job. From the looks of it, he seems pretty fair.
BTW interesting point you make about Lauricella running the relay with Joe McKnight. McKnight went on to USC and had offers from everywhere. Lauricella barely received one offer. McKnight is a good player but he received certain privelages whites do not, plain and simple!

Thanks, Alex ran the 3rd leg of the relay and Joe was the 4th. At that same State Championship track meet they both ran the 100m dash Joe McKnight ran a 10.59 2nd place and Alex Lauricella ran a 11.02 5th place he was a Junior.

Jon Curtis any word on Tulane? We haven't followed them much this year, but things seem to be looking up for Tulane recruiting wise. Looking throught their2011 recruit listthey seem to have a lot of incoming white freshman, from good high school programs in Lousiana, Texas, New Jersey, and NewYork. Tulane Head coach seems to be recruiting really well at Tulane and is trying to build the program up.

Also on their 2010 Roster Tulane has a lot of white freshmen on their roster. They need to step up because so far they are not producing on the field. They went 4-8 this year, so hopefully Toledo can continue to recruit in the right direction and get his type of players on the field.
