Petrova is always a delight to watch on the court. It be nice if she can snatch a Grand Slam title or two.

There won't be a black dude winning a men's Grand Slam for sometime, not since Arthur Ashe in 1974.

With Henin out, it be a miracle to see sistah Serena ousted.

You forgot about Yannick Noah winning the French in 1983. However, 27 years is still a long time. What is the dwf explanation for this?

I wouldn't mind seeing Soderling win it now. To be honest though, of all the four slam tournaments, The French Open is the least interesting.

I'm not too worried about Federer losing this one. With his legacy fully in place as the greatest tennis player of all time, he's playing with house money now. I expect him to win Wimbledon and be a major factor at the US Open.

I'd like him to get to 20 major wins before his career is over. I think that is a very achievable goal.

As for the French Open, it would be nice if Soderling does win it. Although, as a Nadal fan, it's a win-win situation for us tennis fans.

Now, if only someone can knock-off Serena Williams...

Australian doubles specialist Samantha Stosur knocks off Serena Williams in 3 sets. I wonder what Williams' excuse will be this time.

I am Beyond "fired up" for that victory from Stosur over Williams! 8-6 in the third!!!

I think Soderling matches up better with Nadal than Federer, especially on clay, plus Soderling and Nadal have a heated rivalry going with no love loss for each other. I hope that they'll meet in the final.

Congrats to Federer for giving us the best 6 year run in tennis history and doing it with such class and humility, he's a great role model!!!

Serena Williams joins her sister as a spectator for the singles!

They're too arrogant to watch a pack of cracka's play; they have their "other" careers to be concerned with. Are the Williams Bros. still in the hunt for the doubles champs? Having been watching due to timing of the French open.

It was very nice to wake up this morning and see the headline "Serena ousted at French"! Could not have happened to a better person. She was her usual classless self, refusing to give any credit to her opponent.

The world of tennis will be a much, much better place when the Williams sisters, these poor excuses for tennis players retire and go away, never to be heard from again.

Nadal vs. Soderling in the Final... should be good.

This is the match I wanted to see. Soderling is the 1st player I've ever seen that got into Nadal's head, it will be interesting to see how Rafa copes after losing his FO streak to RS last year and also having RS mock Nadal about taking to much time between serves at Wimbledon (I think) the year before. One thing is for sure is this is going to be a great, intense match and rivalry for years to come.

Francesca Schiavone won the women's title. That's got to be one of the biggest surprise wins of a grand slam in a long time. I've been following tennis for three decades and off the top of my head I can't recall another Italian grand slam winner.

Correct Matra1, indeed Schiavone is the first ever Italian to win a GS, so it's a historic day in that sense.

Looking forward to the men's final tomorrow. It's should be a classic.Edited by: foobar75

Historic day alright, first Italian lady Grand Slam winner!
MAGNIFICO!!!

Congrats also to Stosur, there hasn't been an Aussie lady in a Grand Slam final in ages!

The men's final will be great, here's hoping Nadal wins, to coincide with countryman Gasol's possible 2nd NBA title.

Congrats to Nadal, he was as dominant today as ever on a really slow playing clay court today. I'm glad Federer didn't have to face Nadal again with him playing this good on clay and the court playing so slow, you just can't get anything past him on a slow playing clay court. Soderling has nothing to be ashamed of since there's probably nobody in history that could have beaten Nadal today on clay.

Hopefully Federer can get another chance at Nadal at the Wimbledon final this year though...

Nadal is a stud and he's now back in top form. He is injury free and playing some great tennis.

I'm hoping that for the remaining 2 Grand Slams, we see at least one, and preferably two, Federer-Nadal finals. They could be epic.
