At least the o-lines in both conferences continued the trend from last year of being a little whiter. Both defenses are a wipeout; unfortunately all the best white DEs were hurt for parts of this season except for Kampman, who wasn't as dominating as in previous years. And all the QBs are white again.

I don't understand why the teams are announced when there are still two games to be played, two very important games for many teams. The Pro Bowl isn't played until after the Super Bowl, why not have the voting continue until the end of the season and then pick the teams?

The offensive side is not horrendous. Witten and Cooley are two great athletes at tight end. However when I look a the defense it makes me not want to watch another NFL game again. It is just depressing.

the worrying thing is the pro bowl is more of a popularity contest rather than a look at the best players or those rosters would be a lot whiter

Andre Gurode making it at centre is laughable. Out of all the starting centres in the NFL who are 99% white you just knew they would pick a black one.

Gurode made it last year as well. He is awful compared to all the great white centers. I saw one game in which he played in last season were he could not snap the ball in the shotgun formation. Such a simple task this sumo could not perform.

As for snubs, Barrett Ruud not making the team while his washed up teammate Derrick Brooks making the team for the millionth time almost made me throw my bagel at the computer monitor this morning. The TE situation in the AFC was the usual boring Gonzalez/ Gates combo. Do these "experts" have any brainpower? Of course not, they are sheep just like the average American or DWF. Owen Daniels or Dallas Clark would have been the more interesting selections here. Madison Hedgec0ck not making the team was also laughable. Even the biggest caste whores and dimwits like John Madden have stated that Madison is the best blocking FB in the whole NFL.

On a positive note, 2 of my favorite Giants G Chris Snee and C Shaun O'Hara were finally recognized for their brilliant play. Grey beards John Carney and Jeff Feagles should also be commended for their love of the game and great achievements at their respectable ages. Also, a nice nod to Sean Morey as well.

Centre is still considered a white position so if there is a black dude playing there, just like QB, the bruthas will consider voting him in.If the NFL would wait until the end of the season to announce it's Pro Bowl rosters like Don said then I don't doubt that Sencea and Jackson would have received votes from the bruthas for their late season "heroics".

I noticed that Jason Peters made the Pro Bowl this year. In Buffalo he has been killed by the local media. From what I have seen of the games he has looked like a combination of a cigar store indian and the supermarket pop machine with legs. He must throw some of the best stone cold parties in the off season. And I nominate Walter Jones for the Reuben Brown Lifetime Achievement Award.....

Good line. Every time I watch some of a Seahawks game, the same thing happens. A d-lineman will beat Jones and get to Hasselbeck, and the announcersthen ritually begintheir feigned shock routine, praising Jones to therafters and claiming how rare it is when he's beat. Same thing when Orlando Pace, Jonathan Ogden, Willie Roaf and other Reuben Brown types were clearly over the hill but still being treated with nothing but hushed, reverential tones.

A nominee I'm curious about..

Ray Lewis, but no D'Qwell Jackson. Is there something I need to know about this Jackson guy that the stats don't tell me?

One hundred thirty six tackles, 85 solo, 2 sacks, 3 INTs... and he isn't even nominated as a reserve?? He leads the AFC in total tackles, is ranked 5th solo tackles, 3rd among linebackers in passes defensed (Lewis has him by 3 in that stat), has 3 INT's tied for second most among AFC linebackers with Lewis...

But not even a reserve? Is he white or what?

There are White defensive players that excelled.

Aaron Smith

Justin Smith -- 61 tackles and 5 sacks

Kyle Williams -- 46 tackles

Barrett Ruud -- 117 tackles and I think 3 sacks

With the emphasis on the pass in today's NFL, I think D-lineman are going to get less tackles. If teams were running the ball more, Aaron Kampman would have more tackles. Instead, teams have exploited the Packers' hyped-up secondary. I think Charles Woodson shouldn't have made the Pro Bowl.

Shaun Rogers is a joke -- and hasn't he been on losing teams year-after-year-after-year?

Dallas Clark has been phenomenal the last 2 games and now has about 800 yards. His hands are incredible and he doesn't alligator arm. It's a real treat to watch this warrior.

Walter Jones and Chris Samuels are injured. Texans' offensive guard Mike Brisiel probably should have gotten the spot that was given to Brian Waters. White is right spoke of the morbidly-obese Jason Peters... Jake Long would have been a better selection. There was a big push for Ryan Clady so the Jason Peters selection was a bit surprising. If I'm not mistaken, Peters' was previously selected to the Pro Bowl, so that must be the reason he was selected again.

With the afformentioned injuries, Jamaal Brown might sneak into the Pro Bowl. Or over-the-hill Flozell from "America's Team"...

Although named an "alternate", Falcons rookie QB "MattyIce" was gyped by not getting a direct nod. He made a subpar WR like Roddy White have a Pro-Bowl year.

Justin Smith now has 67 tackles and 6 sacks, with run-happy Washington up next.

He'll probably top 70 tackles. That's pretty high for today's NFL.

Jared Allen not being a starter is joke. He's not exactly a sleeper pick. IMO, he is the most valuable defensive player in the league. He has more sacks than the two chosen starters.

Eric Weddle is my second on the snub list. He has more tackles by far than any other free safety - 116. The next closest FS has 100.

Jon Beason is second in the league in tackles (136) and has three interceptions.

Derrick Brooks ranks 67th in the NFL in tackles. Rudd should be there - leading the league last year and 4th this year.

edit: correction Brooks is 67th among linebackers and 118 overall. He has less tackles than DE Justin Smith.Edited by: Kaptain Poop

Derrick Brooks is like the Cal Ripkin Jr and Tony Gywnn of football. He'll make the pro-bowl every season til he hangs em up despite his stats being pedestrian. The media buffoons will site his "intangibles and leadership" as reasons he deserves the honor.

Yet when the production of an establishedgreat like Brian Urlacher drops a bit he doesn't make the Pro Bowl.

This reminds me of a time in 2000 when I emailed Jon Entine (the author of Taboo: Why Black Athletes Dominate Sports and Why We are Afraid to Talk About It") and told him I believed that the black majority in the NFL was not a merit-based superiority but a political one. I had taken offense to a passage in his book where he claimed you could count all the great white running backs in the NFL on one hand. In the hardcover edition of the book (which I own) that passage is in there, however in the subsequent paperback versions Entine sneakily changes it to "you can count all the white runningbacks in the current NFL on one hand."

Anyway, he emailed me back that the pro-bowl is evidence of black superiority because most pro-bowl players are black.

He also told me that Kenyans dominate distance running because of racial superiority, however I prefer to think living in a high altitude with an environment and culture geared toward distance running as a national sport might have something to do with it.

We all know who that clown is Giovani. He makes whites look worthless in sports. We are starting to make a great comeback.Edited by: whiteathlete33

Justin Smith finished the season with 73 tackles (50 solo) and 7 sacks!

ESPN never mentions him. We are supposed to believe that Patrick Willis is the entire 49'ers defense.

If Justin was black, the media would be shouting -- "What a dynamic combo Smith and Willis are!"
