Here are Coach Harbaugh's probable white starters:

QB: Tavita Pritchard - he's part Samoan but looks white to me
*HB: Toby Gerhart will likely be the #2 RB
FB: Owen Maricic, SO
OT: Ben Muth, SR
OG: Andrew Phillips, SO
C: Alex Fletcher, SR
OG: Gustav Rydstedt, SR
OT: Chris Marinelli, JR
TE: Ben Ladner, JR

DEFENSE

DT: Brian Bulcke, JR
DE: Erik Lorig, JR
OLB: Pat Maynor, SR
MLB: Nick Macaluso, SO
OLB: Clinton Snyder, JR
FS: Bo McNally, JR

Bo McNally just had an INT and a return for a TD, but the Stanford radio announcers just had to talk about how he wasn't the best looking player or the greatest talent, but that he has a nose for the football. They just can't give a white player credit without cutting him down. They said the same thing after their black RB caught a TD pass. He has half the stats of Toby, but they said "the story of the night are the 2 RBs for Stanford, Gerhart and Kimble. Simply infuriating! Hopefully Toby will keep running like the wind and make them have to compliment him exclusively.

It was good at the end of the game to hear Coach Harbaugh say that Gerhart was "the real deal."

When Toby Gerhart took the ball into the pile, then bounced out to the corner and streaked up the sideline knee brace and all for a touchdown, leaving negro defender grasping air, the announcer said he was " deceptive." That's the same old B.S. time after time.

I used to be a Beaver fan (when they had Hass), but it seems like Riley is going black and forgetting about all the whites that earned him so many wins. I hope he has a terrible season.

Well, the write-up about the game on Yahoo sports focuses much more on Gerhart than any other Stanford runningback. I wonder when the last time a PAC 10 runningback had this great of a game in a PAC 10 conference game.Edited by: referendum

sophomore Taylor Skaufel started the opening game for the Cardinal at free safety. he had 7 tackles (5 solo) and forced a fumble.

Bo McNally started the at strong safety, but he looks and plays like a corner who can hit, rather than a safety who can cover. he had 6 tackles (4 solo) and 1 interception that he returned 34 yards for a touchdown.

much was made about the speed of Stanford starting cornerback Wopamo Osaisai (the PAC-10 100 meter champ), but if you run the wrong way does speed really matter?

he and fellow black corner kris evans were beaten like tribal drums all night long by OSU's talented receiver sammie stroughter (12 catches, 157 yards, 2 tds) and unheralded Shane Morales (13, 151,1).

it's never a good thing if you're a corner who leads his team in tackles, and those two (osaisai and evans) were numbers 1 and 2 for Stanford. ugh!

maybe they should play McNally at one of the corners and put Mark Mueller at the other. he certainly looked good on special teams.

also, Pat Maynor is impressive at linebacker.

on offense, two other white players looked good besides Gerhart. sophomore wide receiver Ryan Whalen, a former walk-on (go figure!) and sophomore wide receiver/tight end hybrid Coby Fleener look like they are both going to be very good. neither started, but they both took the majority of reps come game time.
