According to David Thorpe with ESPN: 2008-9 NBA Rookie Class: Top 50

Based on summer or previous pro performances, 3 out of the top 5 NBA rookies are White:
3 - Kevin Love (MIN 6'10 271 PF),
4 - Marc Gasol (MEM 7'0 288 C),
5 - Rudy Fernandez (POR 6'5 185 G).

One other in top 10:
8 - Danilo Gallinari (NYK 6'8 210 SF)

Joe Alexander (MIL 6'8 230 PF) apparently underimpressed, and ended up at 23rd.

The other Whites coming to the NBA were
26 - Ryan Anderson (NJN 6'10 240 PF)
27 - Kosta Koufos (UTH 7'0 265 PF)


I'm a bit hesitant to include the Lopez brothers, who came in at 9 and 16. Robin especially looks very white to me, but his afro make me think he is biracial, and obviously the name is Hispanic. Does anyone know?

I think they are white Hispanics. The names Brook and Robin tend to be white names. I saw their mother once on TV during the draft(blond) and she is white, not sure about the father.

Does their father look like fellow Cubans Desi Arnaz and Rafael Palmeiro(white) or does his father look like the typical Cuban boxing team. Trust me, there is a difference.

I was thinking the same thing, G301. Based on their appearance, I was thinking probably a mulatto Cuban at most, but probably not a fully white Cuban.

i saw a pic of the father and he is a spanish european cuban.
so they are both white.
