Boise State set the country on fire last year with their unselfish, exciting style of play.
<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
Offense:
QB Taylor Tharp (in a fight for the position)
WR Vinny Perretta (Tanyon Bissell is his back-up)
TE Ryan Putnam (both his back-ups are white)
LG Tad Miller
C Jeff Cavender
RG Andrew Woodruff
RT Dan Gore

(LT and All American candidate Ryan Clady is the only black o-lineman on the depth chart.)

Defense:
DE Nick Schlekeway
DT Joe Bozikovich
DT Ian Smart
OLB Tim Brady (in a fight for the position)
MLB Kyle Gingg (in a fight for the position)
S Marty Tadman
(Freshman cornerback Cade Hulbert, who is the fastest player on the team, is set to enter the fall as a second-team corner, but is in a battle to be the starting kick returner. Marty Tadman is the punt returner.)

Although Boise is still majority white, they are not the same team they were 6 years ago, when Brock Forsey was running wild through defenses. I hope they have a good season though.

Remember Jon Helmandollar? Ran for 14 TDs as a freshman -- yes 14! Strong as a bull. Then dropped off the team, apparently for personal reasons, came back last year but had just 14 carries, for 47 yards and 1 TD. Not sure what happened there, whether it's his fault or the Caste System's or a combination of both, but it's a shame to see his career come to a dead end like that.

Yes, Jon was/is a beast. The way his career is going really is a shame and a waste. He is still a Junior, so maybe he can end up running the ball more before he finishes.

i have posted elsewhere about Helmandollar in the past. somehow, between his freshman and sophomore seasons, he went from being a gamebreaking speedster with size, to being a bruiser who could get tough yards. this from the exact same sports writer.

since then, his off the field issues have certainly hampered his chances of becoming a big-time part of the Broncos' offense. i hope he can regain the coaches' confidence.

i really am looking forward to watching Cade Hulbert. on the rare occasions his name gets mentioned, it is always about his BLAZING speed.

Yeah, but that mulatto proposing to his white girlfriend after their victory over Oklahoma last year almost made me hurl. Such a great game up until that point.

Yep, it was a sour ending to that game. I guess this year we'll get to see the happy couple necking on the sidelines.

We've got to put and end to this nonsense! I feel it is devastating to our cause!

BOISE, Idaho -- A Boise State University running back who scored the winning points in the Fiesta Bowl, then proposed to his cheerleader girlfriend on national television, has hired security for his weekend wedding because of racial threats, a newspaper reported Tuesday.

Ian Johnson, who is black, and his fiance, Chrissy Popadics, who is white, are due to be married Saturday in Boise.

A report on the letters and phone calls that Johnson has received was carried in an Idaho Statesman sports column.

Johnson, 21, from San Dimas, Calif., ran into the end zone on a so-called "Statue of Liberty" play to score the winning two-point conversion as underdog BSU beat the Oklahoma Sooners 43-42 in overtime on Jan. 1. The Broncos ended their season 13-0 and wound up ranked No. 5 in the final AP poll.

Johnson, who will be a junior this fall, proposed to Popadics, at the time a Broncos cheerleader, on the field after time expired in the game in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Since then, Johnson said he's received phone calls, 30 letters and, in some instances, personal threats from people who objected to his plans to marry Popadics.

"You take it for what it is -- the less educated, the less willing to change," Johnson told the Statesman. "But we're not acting like we're naive to all the stuff that's going on. We know what's been said. We're going to make sure we're safe at all times. It's an amazing day for us, and we'd hate to have it ruined by someone."

He didn't describe the threats -- or the heightened security measures the couple have planned -- in detail.

"It's unfortunate that it involves a certain protocol being followed to ensure that nothing happens," Johnson said. "It's really sad because a lot of people that are probably doing it are the same people who were cheering me on."

A BSU football spokesman, Todd Miles, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Johnson hopes to put the matter behind him and does not want to comment further. Johnson's phone number is unlisted.

Popadics' family in Boise declined to make her available Tuesday for an interview.

that's unfortunate, but this guy should have thought his move through, proposing to his girlfriend on national TV was obviously going ot bring him recognition and possibly potential trouble. i would never advertise my personal life over TV, web or any some such.

That's BS, the article states he received "racial threats" what the hell are those and "in some cases personal threats" which means practically nothing. Over 30 letters? Wow what a deluge. So a few people voiced their opinion that they think an interracial marriage is wrong. Good for them. They just want to rub their race mixing in everyones' face and play for more publicity by making a big deal of this. It's not. They'll be divorced in a few years and she'll need a restraining order. Will it be OK to write letters then?

One of the reasons he proposed on national TV is that he knew she wouldn't
say no. Talk about a manipulative SOB. I wouldn't doubt it for one minute if
these letters are fake too, just like the blacks who fake "hate crimes" in
colleges all over the country. Sounds like he's taking a cue from George
Bush of the "us or them" school. What a mindjob this guy is.

Well thank goodness the Boise St football thread has some important discussion to it regarding breaking the Caste System in sports.

I can't believe you guys sometimes.

The promotion of miscegenation while vilifying it's opposition demonstrates a clear anti-white agenda. The article enforces the one drop rule by reinforcing Johnson's bi-racial characteristics as black.

You see, if you promote the race mixing while denouncing its opposition and you play by the one drop rule, it all adds up to European extinction.

Sorry if you disagree, but I think talking about these these issues is relevant to CF and are important to many.

am i the only one who has noticed that somehow Ian Johnson is considered to be fast all of a sudden?

before all the hoopla surrounding the marriage proposal and all that, he was considered a tough runner with excellent vision and patience but only decent speed. now, somehow he is suddenly a burner.

i watched a LOT of Boise State games the last few years, and he is certainly not a speed freak. he's not slow, but regardless of his actual 40 time, isn't it "funny" how perceptions shift dramatically with very little to do with the actual facts?

i wouldn't hesitate to bet that well overadozenguys on Boise State's football team last year were faster than Johnson, including linebacker Colt Brooks. but does his lack of speed make his talent any less impressive? i don't think so, because in my mind there are lots of other things a tailback needs before he gets to the straight line sprint to the endzone... but it is telling that, now that the media knows Johnson is a "real" black man, that they are portraying him likehe is fast.

even when he's not.

Funny how interracial (black/ white) marriages make the news but interracial murders don't.

Are there words to describe just how loathsome the U.S. media are?Edited by: Poacher

LSU's Jacob Hester also proposed to his girlfriend after an LSU victory. I bet not too many people knew that.

A mostly white BSU team dominated a mostly black So. Miss team yesterday. 36 to 16. BSU has a safety on there named TADMAN #20. What an assassin!

Boise featured 15 white starters compared to S. Miss. 5 or 6. S. Miss. is loaded with the supposed best athletes- southern blacks. Yet, Boise dominated. How can this be? This was an anti-caste classic.
