I figured since we're almost there, this would be a good time to start this thread. I don't know about ya'll, but I'm pulling for Memphis, San Antonio, and Dallas. I may have forgotten another team or two. I hope Memphis can do well, instead of bowing out quickly like last year.

Some good games tommorow.I'm looking forward to the
Dallas game.Dirk will be ready!I predict he will go
for around 35 points with 12 rebounds. The Mavs are
ready to make a run.The other game I will watch is the
Sonics/Kings. Alot of talent on both sides.Seattle has
really improved with Luke Ridnour leading the way. This
game could go either way.I think Peja will be ready and
pumped up.He is the man with Webber finally gone.

I'd like to see the Suns do well if Nash wins the MVP. If they're
a great regular season team, but then flounder in the playoffs,
it would reflect poorly on him.

Teams to root for: Bulls, Suns or Grizzlies, Spurs, Sonics or
Kings, Mavericks

Teams to root against: Heat, Nets, 76ers, Celtics, Pacers,
Wizards, Nuggets, Rockets

I have somewhat mixed feelings about the Pistons because I
don't like the team, but if they're successful, then Darko won't
be blamed for ruining the franchise. Ultimately I would prefer a
white friendly team over them, but I would prefer them to other
black teams like the Heat and Nuggets.

The Spurs, Kings and Mavericks were all upset in the first game. Let's hope they rebound and win their series. I'd prefer to see Memphis beat Phoenix because of their three white starters, especially Mike Miller and Gasol, but if the Suns win that's ok because of the year Nash is having. Chicago beat Washington; the other series I'm not interested in other than I'd like to see Miami and Shaq lose.

How about Nocioni's monster game? 23 points and 18
rebounds. I heard someone call him a "stiff" a while ago. What
bull. Of course that's a racial code word. It's so obvious.

The Nuggets have been red hot since Karl's arrival. They're a
very black team and I would hate to see them beat the Spurs.
That's the most important first round series I think.

Boy, Dirk isn't doing too well in the playoffs. He made the
game-tying shot with 10 seconds to play, but made only 8-of-21
shots.

Dirk had a bigg game tonight to help Dallas finally win. Hinrich scored 34, including 21 in the fouth quarter for the Bulls last night. They're up 2-0.

While the NBA draft doesn't focus on the "measurables" like the
NFL doesn, it's worth noting that at the Chicago pre-draft camp
in 2003, Hinrich had the highest cummulative grade in the
physical drills and measurements.

Radmanovic looks gross with those cornrows or whatever they are. Apparently he thinks Bronson Arroyo is cool.

The playoffs seem pretty lackluster so far. Maybe it'll "heat up" pretty soon. Had to borrow one from the late great Don Poier.

What a game and what a series. The Dallas Mavs have come
back from 2 games down to tie the series at two games
a piece.Dirk didn't have his usual game but they managed
to win.He did still have 18 points though. On top of that,
he has made 21 consecutive free throws. The series goes
back to Dallas now and hopefully the Mavs can win at
home. It's so nice to see a big man like Nowitzki that
can shoot free throws about as good as anyone in the nba.
That is why the european players will keep coming
because they are fundamentally sound! The Kings play
the Sonics later and that is a really fun series to
watch.

Anybody see Carmello Anthony's cheap shot on Manu Ginobli?Manu had a great game - I believe he scored 32 coming off the bench. Ginobli was driving to the basket in the final 30 seconds of the game and Carmello took him down with an elbow to the face. He was ejected.

I have seen Nash and Ginobli take a ton of abuse this year. The must really frustrate the brothers.

Why does every white superstar have to play 6th man and come off the bench anyway? I know Wally Szerbiak had to go to the bench this year too - though he seemed to be the only guy on timberwolves giving any effort this last year.

Manu is unreal sometimes. maybe they'll start him next year. I know without him when Duncan was gone, they would have been nowhere fast.

Why wouldn't you start your best player? Has there ever been a black
player anywhere near Ginobli's level who didn't start for his team?
Just another clear example of how even the very best white athletes are
disrespected every day in Don King's America. Not starting Ginobli
cannot possibly be a strategic decision by the coach (it clearly
doesn't give his team a better chance of winning); it is rather just
another conscious or unconscious cultural decision that reinforces the
twisted racial dyanamics we discuss on this forum.

Good point bigunreal. He should be starting no question.

To be fair, Popovich is starting Barry instead, who is more
white than Manu. (Manu also lost his starting job to a white
player last year, Turkoglu.) Popovich is one of those coaches
who fiddles with his starting line-up a lot. He should be grateful
for Manu though, because he really picked up the slack for
Duncan. He was awful last night.

I love how the "experts" in the media all jumped on the Nuggets
bandwagon, saying that they would make it to the Western
Conference finals, and that the Spurs were finished. Not so
fast. Coincidence that Denver is the blackest team to make the
playoffs in the Western Conference? Hmm....

Starting Brent Barry and Manu at the same time does break the racial quota. No black star of Manu's caliber would put up with riding the bench at the start of the game.

Barry is good, but it doesn't make any sense to keep Manu off the floor too. If we lived in a Caste System free America, they'd both be starting.

Haha, since when is Manuel Ginobli a white guy?? He is from
Argentina, and that is in South American. So he is actually
Latino. It also doesn't matter if you start or don't start, its
how many minutes you end up playing. I think Manuel said it
himself in the halftime interview of the fourth game of the series.

There are many white people in South America, including some countries that are predominantly white. In fact, there are tens of millions of Spanish, Italians, Germans, English and other whites in Latin America and South America. Judging by his name, Ginobili is probably of Italian descent. Take a look at him -- he's white.

Latinos come in all shapes sizes and colors. Latinos are a
mixture of Euros and the natives. They are called mestisos.
I have seen Manuel on Telemundo or Univision and he seemed very proud
of the fact he comes from Latin America.

You're right that Latinos, or hispanics, are not a race but often are mixtures of different races. However, a substantial number of people in South America are Caucasian and are not mixed with any other races, as the demographic makeup of Argentina illustrates.
