1954 Indiana State Championship

ESPN Classic is showing the film of the 1954 Indiana State Championship Basketball game at 5pm ET on Sunday. This game is the inspiration for the film, Hoosiers. I haven't seen it, don't know how good it is.

ESPN Classic has apparently pre-empted this program. They are showing Muhammad Ali all day.

I saw the game a while back on ESPN Classic. It is a good one. A rural, all white, team is given no chance at beating the big,integrated, inner city school for the overall state title. Back then, the small schools could play the big schools for the overall title after they had won their division. It's well worth the watch, whenever they air it again.
