Mike Brown is a tough dude

Yeah, what happened to Rob? He used to be so exciting. It's almost like he is too much awe of his own power, combined with being a little gunshy from the Varner fight. I hope he can get it together again, because if he can, he'll be a top guy, if not the champ again. And yes, Brown dominated...

Mike Brown is a tough dude

On the live WEC card tonight, Mike Brown destroyed the highly hpyed Leonard Garcia in the first round. I think he's going to beat Faber again in the rematch.

    Martin Rogan

Wow, now theres a fight that would never happen, but that I would love to see: Rogan vs Arreola. I'd take Martin by late stoppage.

    Alexander Ustinov

Yes, Ustinov is definately ready for a title shot within 2-3 fights if he wants it. He's huge, but doesn't move like it. He will be a good one. On the other hand, I hope Pedyura bounces back from this. He looks like he could be pretty good too!

    Robert Helenius

Ah, I can't believe I forgot to post in here. You beat me to it Blue Devils Yes, another good win for Helenius. The best thing he's got going for him right now is being able to fight in Germany. It really is the hub of boxing right now.

    Tyson Fury

I definately think it is too early to be too hyped about him (though I am very impressed), but at the rate he's moving, if he lives up to the hype, he'll be a champion by 20 fights. He's being moved along very fast. I know the comparison is completely worthless at this time, but Fury's actually...

    Tyson Fury

Fury beat very tough Daniel Peret by 2nd round TKO, to go to 3-0 with 3 knockouts. He will fight again in two weeks. He's been very impressive so far, and apparently looked less fat (or more lean ) than his last fight, which is always a good thing.

    Martin Rogan

Rogan is now the top British Heavyweight! I was really for him to beat Fraudley, but didn't think he could. The same with Skelton. There definately needs to be a movie about Rogie someday

    Tomasz Adamek

Adamek is (after seeing his last two fights) probably my favorite fighter now. The guys fights are incredibly exciting, he's got great technique, chin, good speed and power. Wlodkarycz and Fragomeni are fighting soon. If Krystof beat Fragomeni, we could in the future see a Polish unification bout.

    John Duddy

Duddy is a very good fighter, with potential to be one of the best. His problem is consistency. He's really hot and cold. He'll need to be on top of his game tonight or Vanda will beat him. Come on Duddy!

    Price and Wilson go pro

British Super Heavyweight David Price, who did very well in this past Olympics in China, and American Mike Wilson (beat Travis Kaufmann in the amateurs) are both going pro! Price is big (6'8), and pretty good overall. He's been stopped as an amateur, so hopefully as a pro he can get some...

    Sergio Martinez

Well, Martinez kept up his side of the bargain, beating Cintron decisively. The judges however, did not. Very bad scoring

    Sergio Martinez

I've been very impressed with Martinez. I hope he beats Cintron decisively.

Prophecy Used as Excuse for Laziness

Another FANTASTIC read by Dr. Baldwin. Does he know his stuff or what. Thanks for posting it Dixie.

    prediction

Vitali stops Gomez is 9 one sided rounds. Wlad gets hit once or twice early, but then KO's Haye in the 7th. People claim Haye was coming on strong and about to stop Wlad... Chagaev beats Valuev again, same as first time. Brian Minto gets his fight with Chris Arreola, and beats him by...

    Wlodarczyk vs Fragomeni

Wow! This is like a dream fight. I think Wlodarczyk has the goods, but Fragomeni is so tough, if Krystof is not 100%, he's going to get beat. I don't care who wins, I like both fighters so much.

    Chagaev vs. Drumond

No, I didn't get to watch it, but I read about three or four different round by rounds, so I think I got a pretty good idea of what went on There are pictures up on the Universum Boxing website, and will be highlights probably posted tommorrow. As I posted earlier, it seems Chagaev showed some...

    Chagaev vs. Drumond

While I don't think anyone has good chances against the Klitschko's, Chagaev has possibly one of the better chances. He didn't look "great" tonight, showing some ring rust, and because of the cut. He still got the win, and has proven he can fight the big guys (he beat Valuev). The media will...

    travis kaufman and adam richards

Couser is definately a shot fighter just looking for a payday. Despite this, this is a VERY good win for Travis Kauffman. As pointed out, Couser stopped Barrett, and is a guy who will give you trouble or upset you if your not on your game. Considering the short notice, a very good win for Travis.

    Denis Boytsov

    Great win for Boytsov.

Five Most Dominant Athletes in the World

Interesting thread. Emelianenko is without peers, so he would have to be on the list. A few mentioned Pudzianowski. It's true he is a legend in World's Strongest Man, but Zydrunas Savickas is just as accomplished in IFSA, and has won the Arnold Classic SIX times in a row! Federer and Nadal of...

    Calzaghe retires!

Joe's one of my all time favorite fighters. It's sad to see him go, but I'm glad he retired. Let's face it, from where Joe was, fighting on he would gain nothing, but could have lost a lot. The caste-clowns were/are just waiting for him to slip up. I would have liked to have watched Joe beat...

    R.I.P. Ingemar Johansson

I did not mean to imply Johansson was an all time great, but rather that he is a highly underrated fighter. A fight with Liston is something people look back to, and it always ends with Liston winning via first round stoppage like he did with Patterson. Johansson is much better than people give...

    R.I.P. Ingemar Johansson

Johansson's name never comes up in "greatness" talks. Of course his career was not really long enough, but still he is often over looked. Eddie Machen was considered a top fighter, a guy who everybody was ducking. Johansson stopped him in one brilliant round, to earn his title shot against...

    R.I.P. Ingemar Johansson

Fightnews reports that great Swedish born Heavyweight Champion Ingemar Johansson died last night. Very, very sad news, he was one of my favorite fighters. A true champion, he will be missed.
