    NCAA Indoor Championships

Trey Griffin advances to the 60m final by running a solid 6.67. Jared Connaughton ran a disappointing 6.78 in the prelims and didn't make the finals. Travis Picou also didn't make the finals in the 200m. He's only a sophomore, so he's got more opportunities in the future. Aaron Buzard made...

    NCAA Indoor Championships

Trey Hardee is destroying the field in the Heptathalon. He ran a 6.71 sec (OMG!) in the 60m and long jumped over 25'! This guy is an incredible athlete at 6'5" 210 lbs to run those times. Can you imagine him as a wide receiver if he would have played football. Edited by: SteveB

    2006 World Indoor Championships

Wow! Andrey Yepishin finished 2nd (6.52 sec) and Matic Osovnikar finished 4th(6.58 sec) in the 60m. Both national records for their respective countries. Look out for these guys in the outdoor season. Great job!Edited by: SteveB

    Daniel Batman

Batman was 2nd at the Telstra A Series meet in the 200m. Most of the guys competing in the Commonwealth Games were there, so I like his chances.

    Hines Ward and South Korea

Wrong. Have you been to your local convenience store and saw who the owner was? He was probably Indian or Pakistani. I disagree slightly with Don about Mexican immigrants because I have seen plenty of them become successful after one generation in this country (although I agree that Mexican...

    White cornerbacks

I would say the best chances are Nate Soelberg from BYU and Steve Gregory from Syracuse. They weren't invited to the combine, but some draft boards have them listed as going in the later rounds.

fox article: MLS should ’86’ Houston ’36

Kudos Celticwarrior for writing the letter. As a native Texan with family roots going back over 150 years in Texas, I am offended that the Houston franchise changed it's name from the 1836. To a native, it is a slap in the face to the memory of brave men, both Anglo and Mexican (called Texican...

    Draft

This sums up why whites at the speed positions can't catch a break in the NFL. Quote from DraftDaddy.com regarding Jaxson Appel: "Appel is player we had ranked among our top 10 safeties all season and was in our top 5 for a while based on his career production. After he didn't get a sniff at...

    Draft

I am still ticked that Jaxson wasn't invited to the combine. He has been a great safety for the Aggies on a pretty dismal defense. I am glad he had a good showing at the Pro Day. Notice the code words used to describe him: not big enough (although he is the same size as many of the safeties...

    Colin Cowherd

Today I was listening to ESPN Radio and the Colin Cowherd show. He was ragging on Vince Young pretty good and he received an email saying that he was being hard on Young because he was black. Well, to my surprise, Cowherd went on a 15 minute diatribe about how some white athletes are...

    Matt Shirvington

It is probably not the weights that got these guys, it was probably girls or booze or something along those lines. Alot of these guys get away from home and turn there focus away from track, just when they are entering their prime.

    Draft

From DraftDaddy.com and NFL.com: A.J. Hawk 4.57 sec 40yd, 24 reps on bench, 40" vertical (6th among LBs), 3 cone drill 6.82 sec (3rd among LBs), short shuttle 3.96 sec (1st among LBs and faster than all but one of the DBs and WRs), long shuttle 11.06 (1st among LBs). What's amazing is...

    Draft

I read somewhere that Emmitt Smith ran a 4.7 at the combine and Tim Dwight ran a 4.6, even though he was the Big 10 100m champ and ran the 100 in 10.35 sec. Some of these 40 times just don't make sense.

    Draft

Some articles have hinted at it, but look for the race card to be played more emphatically. You're going to hear how the Wonderlic is "culturally biased" against black players. Get ready it's coming.

    Jeremy Bloom

4.49 was the middle of the pack for the receivers at the combine. He is the smallest guy there and hasn't played football in 2 years, so he really needed to be sub 4.4 to make a statement that he belongs. Since he ran a hand timed 4.25 in college, I think a lot guys expected him to be faster...

    Jeremy Bloom

4.49 I guess isn't too bad since he hasn't really been training for the 40 in the past few months. The problem is it is another strike against him and gives ammunition to the critics. I hope he comes back during his Pro Day and runs in the 4.3 range, that will help his chances.

    Big 12 Indoor Championships

Here are some notable performances by white men at the Big 12 Indoor Championships: 60m - 5th Trey Griffin, Texas, 6.77 sec (6.72 in prelims) 60m hurdles - 3rd Trey Hardee, Texas, 7.83 sec 200m - 2nd Nate Probasco, Nebraska, 21.17 sec, 5th Trey Griffin, Texas, 21.56 sec High Jump - 2nd...

    Ryan Varner

Good News! Ryan is running for Texas Tech. He has run 21.99 sec 200m indoors this season, which isn't too bad for a freshman. He ran a 22.14 in the Big 12 Indoor Championship, but didn't qualify for the final. Good luck in the outdoor season.

Jake Jones looks good as CB too. I watched some of HS game clips on the internet and he has real good corner technique.

    vertical jump

The vertical jump is a measurement, like the 40 yd dash, that must be taken with a grain of salt. The standard measurement is taken by standing flat footed and jumping, but these days with so much riding on the "measureables", guys cheat. I have seen coaches measure VJ with one step, then...

    Ten Commandments of Racial Suicide

Science is limited by man's level of consciousness. It can explain many of the laws of nature through mathematical equations, but it cannot explain why they exist. There are some forces we can measure and some we can't. For example, Newtonian physics can measure and explain the laws of...
