It looked like Boonson let off the gas quite a bit at the end. He definitely can go much faster. Be interesting to see him race next year. Does anyone know if he trains exclusively in Thailand?
The rain, headwind and multiple races slowed him down, but he still tied the record.
but one is 20 and internationally sprint savvy - one is a kid who is still at school. Now this man and not Gout Gout is the real deal. I think he can run 19.70's in the next couple of years. I'm not saying that Gout Gout isn't
talented but his times are so inconsistant. Not the case with Purple Monsoon. He will be the face of Asian Sprinting for the next decade
and no doubt inspire alot of the youth.
Speaking of rugby, I remember Trae Williams making the switch and having some highlight reel runs. Looks like he's not playing rugby or sprinting anymore though.Australian Mason McGroder was 17 when he won Silver (only 1 cm from Gold) in the recent World under 20 champs - a LONG JUMP of 7.96 metres .
He certainly looked like he'd be our next excellent jumper.
News today that AFL (Australian Football League or Aussie Rules) may have swayed him away from athletics with a starting offer of perhaps $100,000 annual salary to jump ship.
This is why athletics remains a small sport
we never do them in Australia, nor 60s till recently. But he could beat Browning over 60m ... and Browning's best was 6.55Damn, I wonder what his time would be for the 40-yard dash.
